• A VNC Server, such as UltraVNC or TightVNC, is required to connect to a Windows PC.
• Windows and Linux PCs can only send or receive text and URLs.
• Screens will not receive any sound from your computer. This is a limitation of the RFB protocol the app is using.
• Screens Connect requires OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later. You will need to create a free Screens ID.

What's New

Version 4.8.4

New and Improved!

We made the "One-tap User Password" feature better! Henceforth, it shall now be known as "Hold to Send Password". This feature is super handy when you need to type your Mac user password and don't want to bring the keyboard up and type it like an animal. Simply tap and hold the new Actions button (it's the one at the far-right with a small lock on it) on the scrollable toolbar and after a short delay, Screens will type your password and even hit return for you. Lift your finger to cancel the operation.

The Actions button also still works as usual. Simply tap once to bring the actions menu (Disconnect, Send Clipboard, etc.)

Hold to Send Password is especially useful when the macOS login window appears right after connecting. Check it out!

We fixed some stuff too!

- The Nearby and Remote Computers list wasn't sorted alphabetically if you were signed out from Screens Connect
- We increased the resolve timeout to give more time for Screens to detect computers locally
- The F keys could be unusable in multitask mode on iPad in some circumstances
- And the usual, "Stability and performance improvements"

Happy Holidays!

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and wish you and everyone close to you a Happy Holidays!

Support did not find a solution

The developer worked with me to find a solution however when one was not found they did refund the purchase price. Down loaded a more expensive app with
Phone support, I had no router issues. This tells me it is in the software of this app that prohibited the hand shake. I guess I’ll never know.

Purchased app three days ago. Unable to connect to my MAC using my iPhone. Only way it works is when I’m connected to my home WiFi. That is not what I want to do.
Support says I should check my firewall. It is set up correctly. Support says it should be plugged to a power source. It is. Support says to verify settings, verified and correct. Still, not working. Can anyone please offer some help so I can get on with my life?

Sorry to hear. Your router doesn't seem to allow NAT traversal. We did reply to your inquiries several times and we are doing what we can to help you out. Feel free to contact us if you need assistance!

Handy App by a Great Company

I have used screens for years to remotely connect to various desktop and laptop Macs. The features and performance are great and Edovia continues to enhance the app on all platforms. The iOS version of Screens in particular is rock solid and I love using my iPad to hop on to my Macs and using the same great app and experience on my iPhone in pinch if needed.

I also wanted to give a shout out to Edovia. I ran in to an issue with multi-desktop support and they reached out unprompted and help me resolve it, ultimately by rebooting my High Sierra Mac. Thanks guys!

Developer Response ,

Hi! This rare issue is often solved by restarting the Mac you're connecting to as it resets the Screen Sharing server. If this doesn't help, please send us a diagnostics report via the Screens settings > Help > Support. Thanks!

My old review stands

November 15,2017
Each update brings this software to perfection. There is nothing you can’t do remotely with it. I love the in app purchase that allows you to use your iPhone as a trackpad while you remote in with the iPad. Cursor control is better with the trackpad I’ve found.
Bottom line if you have to help your parents with their Macs then this is perfect for you.
I buy every upgrade they charge for, which is not many, but it says a lot for the quality app they produce.

Each version gets better and better. There are several must have apps and this is one.
I’ve used Screens since the first version. I don't mind paying what some consider a lot of money for a quality app. This app does remote access very well. I use it to help my Dad when he needs help mostly. It's perfect for family remote assistance.
