+ Opening URLs from activity items will now deep link into the corresponding app (when available)
+ We fixed some crashes and squashed some bugs
+ The app now uses Swift 3 — if you know what that is, you should also know that we're hiring iOS developers! Learn more at ifttt.com/jobs
Stay tuned — we're working hard on more improvements.
Use it dozens of times a day
When I discovered IFTTT a few years ago I felt like I was late to the party. My first few recipes were pretty basic, but as my needs grew so did my imagination... and the more IFTTT continues to grow and more API's hook into it, you're more or less only limited by your imagination. Because of IFTTT I have a lot of mundane daily business tasks that are now automated. And on a personal level it's helped me organize things and maintain better relationships with people I care about.
UX is broken
The redesign broke this app's UX. Perfect example of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". Even the update to fix complaints failed. The My Applets tab uses way too much screen real estate. It's a burden just to scroll through a list and locate an Applet. The Do app integration is poorly handled. The actual Do app had a message that it was part of IFTTT without explaining what that technically implies. The My Applet tab has applets for the old Do recipes but did't even reference Do as a keyword, which made identifying them an unnecessary chore. The IFTTT Settings screen is the unintuitive home now for Do apparently. Did the IFTTT team lose or get a new design or UX person? App needs more baking time.
Still learning but loving it
I'm still learning all the things that this app can do and am continually amazed by it. It's like Santa Clause it sees you when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake. It handles the security when you're asleep and turns on the lights when you're awake and can do so much more. I like knowing that if I forget to turn on the security when I leave that it'll happen anyway.
