Great game been waiting for years
This is a fantastic game and as very one has already mentioned it's still lacking a bit but I'm sure with a few updates to the game it will be solid. One complaint I have is with passive abilities and how they have to be equipped where as in the others games they were simply active as they were unlocked it makes choosing abilities a bit harder. The difficulty is definitely up there which I love because this game is all about the perfect build and set up for each unique class. The evolutions are also a new handy technique just wished they stayed a bit more constant instead of completely reshuffling the upgrades each fight. But overall a great game and if buying this game helps support Krin to make more games then I will gladly buy more of his games. Colony 2 plz :p
Great, but ridiculously challenging.
I've played through sonny 1 and 2 several times. This game was/is pretty easy, up until zone 3 hit. By this point, i had chosen the lightning class. I'm not sure if this was just a mistake, but completing some battles in this zone took complete respecs. It took me buying armor for every member of my team specifically for this zone. Additionally, to beat grosk, I had to respec 5+ times, use veradux and the doctor, do a bunch of training fights, and spend 10 solid minutes fighting him. I honestly probably only beat him because I got lucky with the evolutions during the battle. I'd evolved all my actives at least once and most of them a second time. That's how long it took. I'm going to try and just do another play through as a different class before even trying zone 4.
Certainly doesn't feel like sonny
I'm trying to figure out what it is about this sonny I don't like, and I think it falls into three things
1) The art style feels a little too close to that anime-esque look that mobile games love, whereas the original sonny games are much darker and more reflective
2) same goes for dialogue. You get the feeling that someone said "this would sell better if it was lightharded" as such it comes off a little cringy (such as the first merchant)
3) Small thing, but there is no visual differences based on equipment, which means you're staring at the weird Dragon Ball Z Sonny model for the whole game.
4)personally, I loved the ability to click on the environment and get flavor text, made each area feel more than just a background picture. This game has removed that.
Also, as far as I can tell, the game is just a retread of sonny one. (Edit: map seems bigger, don't know if that will be tied to bigger story)
Not a bad game at all, but feels distinctly UnSonny and more generic mobile game. It's just not pulling me in. It would also probably help if a "times two speed" button was put in to speed up attack animations etc
Edit: Krin, if you're reading this. You're a phenomenal developer, but something just feels off on this one.
