What's New in Version 2.8.3
To AppRadio Mode users; Thank you for your patience. Meanwhile, AppRadioLIVE, Beej!, EC Touch, Parkopedia and this App were updated for iOS 8 AppRadio Mode. They no longer use the iPhone keyboard and thereby avoid the related App crash. Switching to a different keyboard solution will depend on each App's schedule.
To new AppRadio One users; Welcome, and please make sure your Pioneer product is up to date with the latest firmware available from your Pioneer website.
• Now also optimized for 64bit (iPhone 5s or newer)
What a croc
So many have a avh-x4500bt. It wasn't the most expensive headunit they have, but it wasn't cheep either. When I first got it (under 2 years ago) it worked great. But then iPhone updated now I could see art work or search songs with using a new adapter. Bought that. Installed their firmwear and it work ok. Now it doesn't work at all. Why can't they update the headunit and their apps? It's not like the betas aren't out for months before they release the golds. I'm putting mine up on craiglist and going with a different manufacturer. I'm done jumping through hoops buying all these $50 items just to get my headunit to work like they it would when I bought it. Now it will not work with iOS 8.3. Come on guys. Get into the beta program and fix this stuff before we get the gold copy.
Finally got radio + Waze working
Using iPhone 5, iOS 8.3, and firmware 1.08 with AVH-4000NEX.
Ok, after lots of painstaking work I finally got Waze on my pioneer display and HD Radio working at the same time.
First off, you must get the Digital AV Adapter if you want to see Waze on your Pioneer display. Bluetooth and CarPlay will not show Waze on the Pioneer display.
I deleted AppRadio, reinstalled it. I navigated to my destination on Waze, then I plugged in the AV Adapter. After Waze showed up on screen (and I approved all the security messages on my iPhone) I pressed the drop down in the upper left hand corner and selected HD Radio and tuned to my station. Then I pressed Mode to bring up Waze again. I had no radio audio. Then I pressed volume + to bring up the audio menu, then I muted and unmuted HD Radio, and viola, I was able to hear the radio and use Waze at the same time. If Waze volume is too low, turn up the volume on the radio, press the Apps button the shows up on the right, and increase the app audio.
Hope this helps. This meant a while of suffering to figure out.
I think this app is in sore need of an intuitive UI overhaul.
I Don't Get It
I downloaded App Radio, which as far as I can tell does nothing but prompt me to download App Radio Live, which as far as I can tell runs nothing but Facebook and three other low-star apps that are supposed to do things that you can already do (play podcasts and music.) I got a new touch screen Pioneer radio which I really like, but I can play music and podcasts through it and use the hands-free with no problems. What's the point of this bizarre app duo? App Radio Live also tells me to connect to my stereo I guess help me find compatible apps but when I connect nothing happens. I'll keep trying and if I discover some usefulness I'll update my review, but at the very least it'll be docked for being so difficult to understand.
