Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
AscentMobile allows you to record, display, and analyze activities involving movement. Tracks can be recorded on the iPhone using the internal GPS, or downloaded via WiFi from the companion desktop application "Ascent". Altitude profiles and maps are displayed, as well as various reports and graphs that show your performance over time. Tracks recorded on the iPhone can be sent as an email attachment to your favorite email account for loading into any other compatible program or web site.
NOTE: The Record feature only works with 3G iPhone; other features depending on Ascent Desktop sync work on all iPhones and iPod Touch.
What's New in Version 1.2.0
- Support for ios4 and multitasking - you can now record an activity while running other applications
- Improved WiFi syncing
- Miscellaneous Bug fixes
Nice complement to Mac application
I find that this syncs very cleanly and quickly over Wi-Fi. Easy to set up (compared to other apps with Mac-iPhone syncing). I haven't used the application to track runs.
One feature that I miss from the Mac application is the "moving pace" field. "Average pace" includes time waiting at traffic lights and isn't very interesting. The iPhone app does have "moving time" and "distance," so "moving pace" would seem to be an easy thing to add.
Great compliment to desktop
I bought this on my very positive experience with the desktop version. Few Mac applications manage all my devices like this one!
I was excited to download this app... With the hope it'd translate/sync the info already on my desktop. Like many apps I have syncing info with my desktop... I was elated to see a simple SYNC button. All is well when I noted my computer listed... But when trying to sync, it was a no go. After 5 attempts and the same "this may take a few minutes" screen all night long, I am giving up. Can I have my $$ back, please?
