Can no longer use
This worked just fine when I was able to use it, But thats hasnt been the case since the new updates started requiring iOs 8+. When I open the app I can not get past a popup saying I have to download the update. When I look in app store it doesn't let me update because I am still using iOs 7.1 on a 4s. (Seems archaic,I know, but its what I have to work with) I have not updated the os because for whatever reason I have not been able to back up my phone. I get it, I'm using old tech that does not support new updates and software. But why can I not continue to use the version that worked just fine? I have online banking only and can ONLY view my account activity and info via web/mobile, which was convenient when I was able to use the app. But now anytime I want to check my balance or statement It takes me 3x as long because the only way I can do it is through the website that takes forever to load and is always telling me to download the mobileApp (arrrgggg!) It is incredibly frustrating not having easy access to my finance info. It would be nice if they would take into consideration that some of us can not afford to be technologically up to date and instead of forcing the update, keep old versions accessible
App I don't know, but one of the horrible banks ever
First of all, I opened a BOA account when I entered JHU as an undergraduate student. When first making the account, I chose the settings for no fees when moving 25 dollars from checkings to sacings account every month.
However, BOA suddenly, without notice, literally stole 12 dollars of maintenance fees from my account at the beginning of the year 2017 (specifically on 1.1 my time). It seems like BOA changed some regulations or policies without even letting me know that they will take maintenance fees of 12 dollars from now on. What a way to give a happy new year, kudos to that BoA. I will be closing all my accounts and severing all my ties with BOA as soon as I get back to the states. Because of the 12 dollars maintenance fees incurred, my balance is now below my monthl budget, which I was going to transfer in funds to fill early January. Now since BoA successfully ripped off from its customer (without noice), it will surely be suing me $75 overdraft fee for a payment that I haven't been notified in advance. BoA should stop these kinds of voracious activity. It not only loses credibility but makes its customers lose faith in its system. 12 dollars is not much, but you have successfully lost yourself a customer and anyone I can convince to stray away from BoA.
Two steps forward...
This app makes handling my account a breeze in so many ways that I can't count. It's a great app. It lets me send money to others easily. It lets me suspend activity on any of my cards I might have lost with a couple clicks while I try to find them. Many great features. Seems, however that alerts are pesky and they don't know where to put them, even though I find myself in my alerts sometimes several times a day just checking up on what's happening. I like the alerts. I just wish they were more accessible. Which means about two clicks less per access, which really isn't enough to complain about. The other thing they seem to feel awkward over is the o redraft account. The only reason I stay with BofA is my excellent overdraft account. It would be nice to be able to see its activity, but alas, this latest update has obscured it completely. Anyway, can't complain. I really do think this banking app is marvelous.
