This game is really a shoddy mess. The controls are much better since the update, but that doesn't change the fact that the game is incredibly buggy. The glitches range from graphical (the character appearing upside-down) to affecting the interface (having both the "jump" and "attack" buttons appear on top of each other). Jumping is a mess, even after the obligatory double-jump upgrade. In fact, one glitch actually seems to have robbed me of a weapon upgrade, preventing me from advancing and forcing me to restart my game. Or at least it would, if the game had any options to delete or restart my file! And of course, there are still crippling load times when opening a menu or loading a file. If you want a good Metroidvania game, look elsewhere until the devs address more of this title's many, many problems.
Still unplayable (on 3GS), please fix!
The game shows promise, but is ultimately marred by bugs and poor controls. Can't speak to other versions - but on 3GS; you fall through stairs and get stuck, can't turn off scanner, and controls for aiming don't fire where pressed on second "dual stick" - instead, you rotate and character aims like you roll up a window in a car.
Sound artwork/style, good sound work. Needs an update for bugs and controls. Maybe the iPad version isn't completely unplayable. Please fix for iPhones - people would welcome a good shooter/platform/adventure.
Update:
Controls continue to be broken, non-intuitive, clunky, and mar the experience. Movement and shooting are poor and amateur. Would have hoped they would continue fixing/updating; as they claim to be working on it. If they fixed controls, stairs, and collision detection (shooting small enemies passes through) game might be good.
Good Game! Just need less loading time to get 5 stars!
My new review after update. The graphics and storyline are good, gameplay is great now (with new/updated control system) just loading times are excessive (for a mobile game) but its probably the limitation of game engine. If you re fan of Metroid and platform games you should have great fun playing this one. Great job developer with this update!
