• Big Decisions - The personal decision assistant for iPad •
Whether you're buying a house or an apartment, a new car, phone or computer, planning a holiday, comparing job offers, or just deciding the best place to take that special person on a first date, Big Decisions can make the process a whole lot easier. Everyone could use a little help making decisions.
"Big Decisions is one of the best decision aid apps I've seen, and I've explored most (if not all). It's useful, attractive, smart, and sleek." - App Store Review
• Trust Your Brain, Not Your Gut •
Emotional decision-making can lead to regrettable arguments and regular doses of buyer's remorse. Big Decisions lets you clarify what's really important by leading you through a simple but powerful decision making process and putting the power of rational choice back in your hands.
• Reclaim Your Memory •
Making good decisions requires lots of information. Big Decisions helps you collect and organise all the important parts of your decision so you can review and compare them all in one simple overview.
Big Decisions keeps all your information on your iPad for as long as you want, so you don't have to decide straight away. Go away and think some more, add new options as you discover them, remove criteria that you realise you no longer care about.
It's like having a dedicated notebook for decisions, except without the overflowing pages of unreadable, half-scribbled-out scrawl!
What's New in Version 1.3.0
* Every screen now has contextual help available, which helps explain what to do and makes previously hard-to-find features more obvious.
Great Concept but Tedious to Revise Entries
I love the concept of helping you logically make big decisions. However the "Step by step" entry method makes it very difficult to go back and edit anything after initial entry. If you don't get everything 100% entered right the first time, you have to basically start from scratch. These features would make it 5 stars for me:
-Allow to edit ratings of options/feature combos individually (currently you have to re-rate every single feature even if you just want to change one thing)
-Allow to edit names of features without erasing their ratings (like if you make a typo, there's no way to fix it besides deleting and re-entering for all options/feature combos)
-Allow to manually change ranking of features.
-Allow for "N/A" rating for items you're not sure about or don't have enough info for yet.
Very nice app but one bug drives me crazy
Very nice app but one bug drives me crazy - after the initial data entry, when you want to modify the scores, the text describing what you are rating is hidden under other text.
Other than this irritating bug, the program is well-designed, easy-to-use and has been helpful in my decision making.
Fabulously helpful app! Recommended!
Would love to see future versions enable editing entries in prior fields though (e.g., when I realize I worded an important feature as a negative when I mean to rate it where a high rating is the least of that negative aspect, such as "expense" vs. "inexpensive")
