What's New in Version 1.2
Improved tilt control, added re-launch bonus and bug fix for certain tilt situations.
Good attempt, could be better
This game should've been called "Random." It is trying hard to be the next Peggle, but it falls short. Instead of knocking out pegs, your job is to fill up the empty holes on the board. Once you start to fill them in, the successive balls that drop will bounce around randomly and will hopefully find their mark and fill in the next empty spot. The game mentions a tilt feature, however there is no tilt feature, as far as I can tell. I've tried tilting my iPhone fast, slow, and in-between with no luck affecting the course of the balls. The bonus score system is something else as well. I have no clue what is happening when I get a bonus, they flash up too fast to read and it seems like they don't do anything to benefit me. Overall the game isn't that bad, the graphics are nice a colorful, the sounds are quirky and have a Carribean, steel drum feel to them. It's a decent time waster if you can deal with tapping a screen and letting the balls do their thing. It's not worth $2.99 at all though, maybe $.99.
Agree with mfrenchie's review
Everything this earlier reviewer said was spot on! My only real annoyance is the bug with the balls getting stuff at the top when tilted at 90 degrees. This really needs to be fixed! Otherwise, this is the ONLY app game that I've really become addicted to so far. Very frustrating at time (I got stuck at level 13 for a few weeks!!), but now I'm at level 18 and enjoying the continuing challenge. The more you play, the more you'll learn the quirks and secrets to getting the balls cleared: Extreme tilting and scoring multiple extra balls are essential to one's progress. Give it time, and its complexities will be reveled and enjoyed!
Bounce Trap delivers...
Looking at Bounce Trap Tilt, you can definitely see how much effort and experience went into creating this game. While i can understand why this can be addicting to many people (it has some kind of Pachinko feel to it), i for myself found it more suited as one of those pick-up-and-play-for-some-minutes games. Don't get me wrong. I will probably come back to Bounce Trap several times a week, but it just does not have that certain something to keep me going over a longer time. All in all the graphics are well done, the controls work fine (even the tilting) and the gameplay is simple yet challenging. I'm absolutely gonna try out some other games of PlayScreen. 4/5
