What's New in Version 5.6.4
General performance and stability improvements.
Efficient & Effective
This app is a very effective and efficient solution to the problem of "What's my day like today". I have tried multiple programs, often at the same time, trying to answer that question for myself. For that reason, my response to this program is very intense and very personal.
The importance of being able to use one portal to add both to-do's and events, along with all the ancillary information required by each of these items, and to see all of them on the same page along with all the other outside info such as the various holidays and when they are celebrated; the capability to edit any & all of these bits of my life on the fly; the integration of other apps such as Reminders to add further functionality; and the ability to sync all of this across platforms and devices, makes this app the most useFUL and the most useABLE that I have yet encountered.
I have never yet had a crash or even a glitch in its performance, so it appears to be acceptably stable.
The ease of editing even which calendars are displayed, so you can, for instance, quickly switch to just showing your Health related items and thereby see all of your upcoming appointments as though they were highlighted in a paper & pencil format.
In short, I find this app to be the best bang for my buck, to date, and I use it constantly.
Only app I use daily
I have stopped using the native calendar app because I prefer the interface and look of Calendars 5. What I need is a single place to keep track of my schedule for the day, as well as any tasks I need to complete that day. Calendars 5 allows me to do that so seamlessly that I love it. I can, in a glance, see what needs to be done by the end of the day and what needs to be done at a certain time. The app is pretty intuitive--I didn't have a big learning curve with figuring out its features, and it syncs beautifully with the native calendar (and reminders) and with any other devices using Calendars 5 under your account. I have the app on my iPhone and iPad, and as soon as I create an entry or cross of an item from one device, it is updated on the other. I continue to be impressed by the app and recommend it to anyone searching for a solid calendar/task manager.
Good calendar but time/date input is clunky
First of all, minus one star for nagging me over and over to write a review, when I've already written one.
I like this calendar, and it is certainly better than the apple installed one, but I still find the method of entering the date/time of events…er, unusual, to put it nicely. It has a tendency to assume (via defaults) that an event spans multiple dates, requiring me to always correct the beginning and/or end date. I think the default for a new event should be a single date, unless you want something else But what is really silly is its insistence that I enter the time of the event first; to me, it would be more logical to enter the date FIRST. Or at least there should be a setting where one could choose.
Finally, I would like to see the numerical date on the icon, like the apple calendar, so I could finally banish the apple calendar icon to my "unused stuff" folder, where it belongs.
