I wanted to love this
I downloaded this hoping for the promised integration. — See all your data in one place. Sync CGMs. Real time stats to help you make decisions on the fly. — But turns out it doesn’t support the Apple Watch, nor does it actually support my CGM (Freestyle Libre) unless I want to either enter it all manually or periodically take the time to create and upload logs which can only be done from your desktop system. There’s no “real time stats” when I have to go home and create a log and then upload it. Or I can get on board for THEIR system which requires finger sticks & the purchasing of strips — thereby defeating the whole purpose of my CGM. I haven’t even checked the food database to see how well that aspect works because three minutes into setup I realized it doesn’t integrate. Very disappointed.
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out, just want to clarify a few things!
1. Center does integrate with Apple Watch. You can connect your Apple Watch by tapping "connected apps and devices" and then selecting "Apple Health"
2. Any data entered in Center lets the app calculate personalized stats for you in real-time. Though we don't currently have an automatic integration with the Libre because Abbott doesn't offer 3rd party app connectivity, you can still upload all of your Libre data to Center, so you can see your blood sugars all in context with everything else you're tracking, so you can find patterns in your diabetes when looking at your data over the course of a day, week, month, or 3 month period. Our thinking here is that we want to help people using Center understand their blood sugar using all the great features Center has to offer combined with their CGM! To our knowledge, no other app offers this!
3. Our food database has one of the largest food libraries of any app, featuring millions of generic foods, restaurant items, and grocery store items :)
Hope this helps, and if you have any questions or suggestions, you can always email us at email@example.com!
I‘m loving the app (again)
Updated: IT’S BEEN FIXED. ALL IS GOOD IN THE UNIVERSE AGAIN
Updated: apparently I’m gong to have to delete and reinstall to keep using this.
BRING BACK THE PRIOR VERSION!!!
Updated: I deleted and downloaded the latest version. Is working like normal, EXCEPT I can’t edit portion sizes.
I was loving the app. Until the latest update. Now the app just tries to load the dashboard. Tried on both my iPhone and iPad.
After I last uploaded my meter (Wed evening), I was able to view on my phone. Opened the app Thursday am, went to enter new data, and I got this error. I tried same on my iPad.
If I go to computer, no data entered from mobile devices (since Thursday) shows. But I can make manual entries, and the dashboard works ok.
I think your fix for offline isn’t working the way you want for too. Can you bring back the previous version?
If your intentions are to use this meter to administer insulin, I do NOT recommend. Being a healthcare professional this is not accurate for you use administering insulin because the testing unit is off by 27 mg/dL. Those of you who take insulin know the bad outcomes that could happen with this. I contacted support to report this issue and they said because it measure hematocrit and blood glucose. Unfortunately, you don’t need hematocrit when determining how much insulin to administer. So if you’re just using this to get an idea of what your blood glucose level is just remember to compare this meter to other meters and your doctors meter. But overall it’s a great idea but waste of money due to inaccuracy.
We take accuracy and performance of the Nano very seriously, and use the Nano ourselves to dose our own insulin as type 1s every day. Center is proud to offer one of the most advanced and accurate FDA-approved blood glucose sensors available on the market.
In terms of accuracy and performance - 100% of Nanos we send out are tested before shipping. If you're seeing a difference between your old meter and the Nano, the reason is likely that unlike traditional strips, the Nano has a dual sensor which measures both blood glucose, and hematocrit (the amount of water in your blood). Most conventional test strips don't measure hematocrit, and so readings can be significantly off from their real values because of hematocrit interference! So, our strip measures this, and corrects for it for every single test you do, ensuring you have the most accurate reading possible. Most normal strips don't account for this, which yields different (often higher) readings. You can check some more of our stats here if you're curious, https://help.center.health/article/5-is-the-nano-accurate
Hematocrit levels affect every blood glucose test for everybody, regardless of whether you're type 1 or type 2, using insulin or not. The Nano's dual sensor helps make sure anyone counting on Center can get the most accurate reading possible.
Additionally, if you ever want to verify your readings are accurate, we're happy to send you a bottle of control solution 100% free of charge!
