What language is this?

I like the app but Chinese is much harder than a romantic language and probably harder than English which native speakers in the USA speak far from perfectly. But I need more specific of what I am learning than that it is Chinese. Is it Mandarin or Cantonese?!?

Удобная игровая программа. Еще не совсем продумана письменная часть, т.к. в китайском не учтены особенности транскрипции. Но в целом, отлично подходит для изучения языка, особенно для новичка.

Wow! You will start speaking Chinese and hearing it correctly with this app!

My kids decided this month was a good time to start speaking Chinese ( inspired by a YouTube video moreso than any profound academic pretense, lol), so we've downloaded a few apps to that end and read up on some language blogs the suggestion to *not* focus seriously on reading or writing Chinese characters too much, but to focus on pinyin to enhance our absorption of the pronunciation. Hmm, wrong! This app has done a better job of helping us "dial-in" to the sounds of each vocabulary word faster than some of the other apps. I think we will be putting the pinyin-based learning to the side for now and come back to it later on when we want to do typing or other levels beyond basic vocabulary. Pictures are straightforward in this app and the pre-study vocabulary list prior to each actual lesson is so *smart* compared to other apps we have looked at!
