What's New in Version 6.1
-Fix ability to paste password into login fields.
-Other fixes and enhancements
checking+savings account opened 1996; used citi da online back then, ever since launch , then on to citi mobile-- always felt good and cutting edge w citi...
today was forced to update to this horrid version - complete functionality loss - totally unprofessional splash screen - (May well be the very first standalone application in the history of computing to have a family photograph as start screen - seriously?! I now have to make sure I'm not in a work environment to be able to launch this app). anyway , have lost most functionality after updating : eg no payee or payment records or external payees listed , only transfers to myself, app crash , and at LEAST 5 times too slow for my use case where I make almost all payments from NYC taxis. totally unworkable .
I will open a chase account Monday and if their mobile offering has the features I lost with this update , I will transfer all funds and close this account. citi are seriously morons and dropped the ball huge! ! consumer banking is the only business they can compete in and are historically good at . And technology has always been their thing -- so what the heck has happened w you people? has this been outsourced to some B-team white label app company ?
advice to citi retail banking execs : you arent government owned anymore so stop acting like it
Somewhere in between
I see a lot of points in these reviews. I can say that having a 4G unlimited data plan is always a good idea when running any modern app. I thought this app was comparable to other banking apps and it is probably one of the better ones. However, I agree that I would never display a "family photo" there and am disappointed in that aspect. It serves no purpose. I'd think they would be better served using it as a new product advertisement or something news worthy to existing customers. I'm rating it higher because I think it hasn't received a fair shake. Citibank offers more perks than most banks. There are a few institutions that charge about $0.50 for mobile deposit and Citibank is NOT one of them. I can be patient with their developers to come up with a better splash screen. For others having challenges with the app being slow, consider that when upgrading your current phone. Check out a few carriers and phones. I had to do that this last time since I had the very same issue. It was the phone AND the service provider!
Why did you eliminate…?
UPDATE - Thank you for putting the paste password feature back
This update released to 2/3/14
Citibank - why did you eliminate the ability to paste the password from 1Password? Which I use on all my iOS devices and computers.
I have very secure passwords generated from 1Password and now trying to remember and enter my Citi password on my iPhone or iPad to use Citibank app? Insane.
Citibank you must want your users to use easy, insecure passwords now. Just insane
Put back this ability immediately please. I’ve decided to actually go to Citibank and use tellers for deposits because this update is so bad. Citibank? This update is COSTING you money. Congratulations. The app is slower, harder to use and takes away functionality - and Citibank paid someone to do this.
Don’t upgrade people. I’reverted from backup. The previous version is faster and more functional.
