Won’t work you if you use Km instead of miles (not kidding)
If you want to use metric system IOs forces you to choose Canada as a region instead of US. This new update checks that you r region is “US” before EVERY start. Not just the first one, but every one of them. Even though I am in the US I prefer to see distances in Km… so now I can’t use this app unless I toggle the region before starting -and then toggling back when I am done.
True, bad design by apple not to let you use Km in the US but also bad decision from Citi to try to police you with such a bad check, Isn’t this application only available in the US store? If they want to limit to some country use THAT not some other random setting. Wish they mentioned this incompatibilities in the details so one could avoid incompatible upgrades. Now I will have to remove the application and wish that I have a backup of the previous version.
A Step Backward
Do NOT upgrade if you have multiple accounts associated with your name. If you have a business account, a personal account or perhaps a separate account for a spouse that you access through your mobile device, note the following. The new "upgraded" app allows for only a single user name and password ! You are required to renter your alternate account information each and every time you need to access it! I will not be using this app at all, and I will be forced to use my PC thanks to this step backwards. Another point- adding another user name and password? In the past you needed the actual bank card as well as the user name and password. Now one requires ONLY the user name and password. This is a step backwards as far as security goes. Your app may possibly be more attractive and user friendly, but I won't be using it to find out.
Forcing Regional Settings is Insensitive and Unacceptable
The app appears to function well so far. Yet, upon first opening the app after the 7.0 update, I was dismayed to find out I had to set my region to North America in order to use the Citi Mobile App. This is unacceptable. There is no reason the coders could not make the application function with any regional formats; the only difference is the comma and decimal having reversed roles in currency display. Having moved to the United States only a few years ago, I find using my iPhone easier with the regional settings set to Europe. This allows Maps and other applications to display the metric system, making learning the differences between miles and kilometers, and so on, easier for me. Citibank, an international corporation, should fix this immediately; such a demand of an app is culturally insensitive, scilicet clear disrespect.
