Description

"Cytus II" is a music rhythm game created by Rayark Games. It's our fourth rhythm game title, following the footsteps of three global successes, "Cytus", "DEEMO" and "VOEZ". This sequel to "Cytus" brings back the original staff and is a product of hardwork and devotion.

In the future, humans have redefined internet development and connections. We can now easily sync the real world with the internet world, changing life as we have known for thousands of years.

In the mega virtual internet space cyTus, there exists a mysterious DJ legend Æsir. His music has an irresistible charm; people fall madly in love with his music. Rumor has it that every note and beat of his music hits the audiences in
the depths of their souls.

One day, Æsir, who had never shown his face before, suddenly announced that he will be holding the first mega virtual concert —— Æsir-FEST and will invite a top idol singer and a popular DJ as opening performances. The instant the ticket sales began, an unprecedented rush occurred. Everyone wanted to see Æsir's real face.

On the day of the FEST, millions of people were connected to the event. At one hour before the event started, the previous world record for most simultaneous connection was smashed. The whole city was on its feet, waiting for Æsir to descend from the skies...

I’m not disappointed.

Just what I expected from Rayark. I loved the original cytus, and when I heard a sequel was coming, I was half excited and half worried. As much as I loved the first one, I didn’t want to set the expectations too high and hype myself. However, Rayark succeeded to make this second one a masterpiece, by keeping the basic and the most important keypoints of the first one in gameplay, while adding some modern touches, such as simple yet awesome interface designs, new note designs, interesting storytelling, and so on. The only reason I’m not giving the game a perfect score is because the new note designs contain too much particles and blinking lights, and frame drops happen in an old phone, like my iphone 6+. This is actually very distracting, and I would like it if the developers will add some performance options, like less particles or downgrading the whole graphic during gameplay. Or returning the old designs, Idk. Anything that will boost the frame rates in-game. Rather than that, I’m digging it. I’m going to buy both dlcs after I get all the songs for the original characters. Love the wonderful work, Rayark. Hope you keep it up.

Absolutely Gorgeous

This game is hands down one of the best on the App Store, the songs are all fantastic and gameplay is smooth and consistent and the visuals are stunning.
It both lives up to and surpasses is predecessor.
The theme of the game is amazing and enthralling, and the story telling through the feed of a Twitter-esq platform. I found myself surprisingly invested in the characters and rushing through the game to find out what’s going on with A.R.C.
If you’re new to Cytus, I suggest going to play the original first as this one is significantly harder for two reasons: it’s much less forgiving for errors, and it throws notes at you in ways that give you that “pat your head while rubbing your belly” feeling which doesn’t happen as often in the first game. (The stories are also linked)
All in all, this game is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to anybody even if they’re not fans of rhythm games, this one will make them one. My only complaint is the fact that 2/5 of the game is behind a 20$ paywall. This wasn’t a problem in the first Cytus because the paid albums there were extra, in this game however ConnoR and Xenon both have huge portions of the story. I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel a little cheated because of this. I would suggest either lowering the price of the IAP or increase the up front cost and make them part of the package.
Aside from that, this game is truly incredible and I highly recommend it!

Brilliant!

This game is definitely not for the casual gamer. If you are new to Cytus, it’s really recommended to go try out the original first and get the feel for the game. This newly enhanced game is much faster and much more difficult than the original. With the separate artists to choose from and the DLC you can basically pick your favorite genre of music. From what i’ve noticed so far Neko and ConneR are the more difficult ones to play and Paff + Robo_Head are a bit easier to manage for newer players. Its basically the same game as the original, only a much wider storyline thats sort of like a massive blog (and the DLC has their own separate storylines as well) and it has a few new notes that are pretty difficult to get the hang of. Overall this game is amazing, and like the original i’ll probably be getting all of the released DLC for this game!
