journal

I was looking for a replacement for vJournal as this app does no longer appear to be updated... DayEntry worked better than anticipated, also it was very easy to configure so that entries keep going in to the same note stack structure created by vJournal in Evernote, only drawback I see from vJournal would seem to be that at the end of a year you will manually need to change default notebook to the next year, whereas vJournal did this automatically, but since this would be a once per year occurrence, I can look past that as a "problem," otherwise nothing but improvements, sleeker interface with more functions, most notably ability to add entries to past dates without having to go into Evernote and manually do so in case a day is missed or you think of something applying to a previous day... I think you can also do this for future
dates, although I don't see the point when it comes to entries for a historical journal app... please try to keep this app updated, good job!

Great app + DayOne integration possible

I was looking for something to replace vJournal for daily logging and small journal entries during the day. This app works great for the purpose. But I also wanted to pull my daily entry from Evernote into DayOne, which is my main journaling app. I found I can write an ifttt applet that pulls my DayEntry file from Evernote into DayOne when I add a tag to the DayEntry file. At the end of the day, I add a tag (I use “JournalComplete”) to the DayEntry file in Evernote. I go to the ifttt app, run the applet and presto, the DayEntry file for that day is copied to DayOne. The geotags are not preserved but I can live with that. Fantastic!

Still Great

PLEASE FIX EVERYTHING FOR IOS 11/12 for iPad. It’s pretty broken right now and needs an update: I can’t even access the settings now with an external keyboard.

Thanks.

This app allows you to micro-journal to Evernote. You get one Evernote note per day, and DayEntry keeps appending to that with timestamps (and location links) until the day is over. You can even set the flip time (e.g., 3am).

This app is absolutely awesome and ends my years-long struggle with journal apps. I trust Evernote to not go out of business and this DayEntry app to do its small (but awesome) part: micro-journal entries. Allows for photos from your library, camera, and all other normal stuff. And if you want to get more serious, you could also just flip to Evernote. You can even edit the journal entry in Evernote and DayEntry will keep appending properly.

Also it does landscape and portrait, even on iPhone (whew!).

Wish it did Slide-over and side-by-side, but that's fine.

Thanks for making this great app. I just bought the bundle and am looking forward to checking out the other two.
