Ratings and Reviews
I downloaded this app originally on the recommendation of a friend to more easily place files in compatible folders for use in some other apps. However, I have actually received most of my use out of this app from its easy interface with google docs as well as the e-reader built into the Documents app. Specifically the text reflow tool has made reading books on an iPhone SE screen a great experience. The video player built into the app is also very well done, especially because you can use this app to stream videos stored on my network’s server (server file access privileges required to perform, unrelated to app usage). The only annoyance I’ve found so far is when using the iOS read out loud feature to read text in files. When the navigation buttons are showing (return to files button on top and forward/backward page on bottom) the reader reads your entire directory’s file names. The same thing happens when the navigation buttons are hidden (by tapping the text once), but after it finishes reading that page it is on. However, this text reflow tool coupled with the iOS read out loud feature has saved me a bunch of time on my commute reading various books and textbooks, especially for education purposes!
It’s a great app but lately...
I’ve been using this app for a little over a year now and there was never really any problems. I use Documents to download all of my music since I can’t use the common app for music on my phone. It’s been working fine until now. It would work fine but after a couple of songs, one song would come up and I would listen to it for around 1 minute, then suddenly it stops and skips over to the next song. It’s not just one specific song but it happens to other songs too. One time it skipped two songs right in the middle. I’ve tried replying the same song and refreshing the page but it still does the same thing. I even went and updated it to the recent version but the issue still appears. It’s really frustrating. Now I use the common app but I can only listen to one artist a time, so when I want to listen to another artist song, I have to stop what I’m doing and search for the artist. Documents is the only app I can use for my music that gives me everything I want without making it complicated. Overall, it’s a good app to use with no fuss.
Cannot Permanently Delete Data
I have used the Documents app for some time now, but just recently became aware of the fact that I cannot permanently delete data I have removed from the app via the in app deletion tools. I have done the initial deletion, and then the secondary “permanent” deletion, but the data itself still remains somewhere in the iPad.
Here is an example of what I mean. Recently I needed more space on my iPad. I checked how much storage the Documents app was taking up, noting the total being used was 6.98 gigs. After deleting several hundred megs worth of files (using the two step deletion process), I checked the storage situation again. The total storage being used by the app had increased to 7.05 gigs. (I also previously removed the Documents folder from the iOS Files app.)
In short, I am being robbed of storage by the app. I don’t appreciate being robbed.
Of course I could try and fully delete the app and see if that would solve my woes, but why should I have to? Why does the two step delete function not actually delete the files I want to delete? Uninstalling and reinstalling would mean I would have to move all my information back over and reorganize it as well. Why should I have to do that instead of simply being able to delete my files permanently?

UPD. We've fixed this issue, can you please update to the latest version of Documents and let us know if the app size is still calculated incorrectly? Thank you.
Hello Ellis! We are really sorry to hear about this, can you please contact our support team at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can troubleshoot the issue? In the meantime, please try restarting the device. This might help as the cache clearing mechanism is also managed by the system. Thanks, Alexandra
