Depth of Field (DOF) and Hyperfocal Distance are two very important items when it comes down to getting the right amount of blur or sharpness depth in your shot. But how can you calculate these easily?
We Nikonians have had a great article written by J. Ramon Palacios (jrp), the “Depth of the Field (DOF) and Hyperfocal Distance” also containing a Depth of Field and Hyperfocal Distance calculator.
Using this app one can easily calculate all these important figures and effectively improve the photography results.

Distance is still in meters, very limited use
Why do you get the distance in meters, when setting up your calculator? Americans don't think in meters, we aren't on the metric system. Why hasn't this been corrected? I don't think it would be a big rewrite of the software, so what's the hold up? The other problem is that the output is in a type size of about 3 pts. You almost need a magnifying glass to read it. I'm surprised at the low quality of this from Nikonians. This held great promise, but fails badly
Do not use this app. It is. Or at all accurate. And like other reviewers say- it mixes ft and meters regardless of setting. You also can't select camera format. I only pick one star because you have to put something.
It's in meters - good! Its free and have no ad!
