What's New in Version 2.7
iOS 7 update.
One of my friends think Doom is cr@p and Black Ops 2 is superior. He's dead wrong. This is the godfather of FPS games. Insulting this game is an extremely foolish thing to do. It's like insulting your parents because without them, you wouldn't be here; like if Doom wasn't here, we wouldn't have Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, etc. Anyways, few flaws which are very minor is the movement feels a bit sluggish. There are also some graphical bugs like enemies overlapping barrels when they're supposed to be behind them or whatever. Also, please change the music back to its original form. My favorite track, The Imp's Song, doesn't sound as good as the original. Still, fantastic game overall. If you love FPS games, definitely get this. Also, please, please, PLEASE port Doom 2. I don't want the cr@ppy RPG, I want the real classic Doom 2 on iOS. That would complete me. PLEASE MAKE IT!!!
Thank you, id Software and Bethesda. Once again you took me back to my childhood. First Wolfenstein 3D and now Doom.
It's exactly the same game. Same atmosphere, sound effects, weapons and secret places. Same pleasing gameplay... The control scheme is designed perfectly. Easy to move, strafe and shoot. Auto-use feature is great and save/load is what every FPS game should have.
If you add Doom 2 and Final Doom to this inimitable title, it would be awesome; just like Wolfenstein which includes both the Wolfenstein 3D and the Spears of Destiny levels. I was worried about this update, though. The file size is reduced significantly but fortunately nothing is removed. I hope it's time to add Doom 2 and Final Doom.
Last but not least, it's the best game I've ever played (whether as a child or an adult) and I still prefer this amazing game to FarCry, Crysis, CoD, etc.
I was hesitant to buy this a while back because I was afraid the controls would be unplayable but when I finally came to buying it I found that the controls are amazing and even gives you different options. The one with the wheel is definitely the one I find the best. This game is just like the original with the exception of a few minor glitches that don't hinder gameplay. I really hope to see doom II in the App Store sometime this year
