A must have buy for iPad users.
There are very few apps out there that are must have buys for iPad owners. Even the Office sweet (as good as it is) isn't really necessary when iWork and Google Docs exist. You *could* go a decade with buying a single iPad productivity app. Heck, even the great Scrivener app isn't a must have (though it is a great app). Duet Display is an app that I tell every iPad owner to buy. It works well, it is regularly updated and is relatively simple to use. There is nothing like having that freedom to have a second monitor with you when you go to a coffee shop and plug your computer into the wall and your iPad into your computer and bring out a Logitech master mouse (if you really wanted to be super fancy) and keep excel opened on one screen and a browser or other data on the other. I am able to power through any project and work 2x better. Buy this app if you own an ipad. I never use it on my iPhone, but it is nice to have that option. The best thing is that I know it will work when I move to windows from Mac OS (and I will finally get that touch screen laptop with an updated processor). This is the app that Apple should have made and built into iOS but never did.
Program kinks, support is 5 stars
I would give 4.5 stars but there is no halves. I bought the app to make use of my antiquated iPad 2. The current version did not work immediately but support responded with assistance in less than 24 hours. It took a few rounds of emails but after 3 days of email troubleshooting, the problem was figured out and I had to revert to a previous version in order to use the app on the iPad 2. Although I do not have use of all the latest features, the (previous version) of the program works and support has my 5 star rating. Support, thank you for the quick responses and assistance.
Fantastic software, great support
I use this + my iPad Air as a 3rd monitor for my Surface Pro 3 and MS Surface dock. It works brilliantly and connects everytime without windows going nuts.
When I first tried it windows went haywire when connecting duet display. Support was understanding and even offered me a refund. But as it turned out the issue was with my Microsoft Surface Dock not working properly. Once I replaced that, everything worked beautifully.
It says a lot about a company that will support you and even offer you a refund when the problem wasn't even their software!!!
Edit: I am even more impressed with this software. I now have an Alienware gaming desktop and because of this lost the touch capability when I had my surface as my desktop. But when I hook up my iPad I get virtually the same touch and swipe gestures that I had with my surface. My main 4K monitor acts as my traditional monitor and I use my iPad as a touch monitor for my windows store apps. It's utterly fantastic.
