Factory of sadness
Gets worse with each iteration. The design/layout forces you you to open to a page that is not your watch or selling page. Instead it is a page of ads for stuff I can’t imagine wanting. They have removed the color from the app, so you can’t easily discern as a buyer or seller if something has bids or not. (used to be green = bids, red = no bids) As a seller it no longer shows you your sales totals. The followed searches are now useless and default to best match each time, no longer showing you what is new. There is a ton of white space which forces you to scroll constantly. Navigating through the app is burdensome and clearly no thought was put into that. You can’t delete items you have purchased and paid for and received. I could go on and one. Many things you used to be able to do in the app, you now have to use the desktop version to do which kinda defeats the purpose of using the app. I’m not sure what ebay is up to here, there doesn’t appear to be much thought, craft or care put into this app. Not sure who is directing the app team here, but in a crowded marketplace with more and more options for buyers and sellers, putting forth an app that has been castrated is not a good look. I suppose if you are a infrequent user of ebay, you won’t use it enough for it to be a hinderance if you don’t mind having to work your way past items you probably don’t have much need for being forced on you. If you are a serious ebay user, it’s brutal.
I am an iPhone user and I use this app many times each day as a buyer and now a new seller. I have some gripes though. First and foremost in addition to the back arrow, give us a forward arrow especially because I have recently noticed that in just scrolling through my searches it can take me back to my previous page thus leaving me no way back other then to type the search back in. Please move those arrows away from the menus pulldown too. Second, I would like to see a button for the sellers other items while in the listing rather than having to drill down to it. Third, in the completed watched items could you show when an item has sold similar to the non mobile site does. Finally, I think that there should also be more options when using the buy it now button if buying more then one item from same seller to allow for discounted shipping. So so app overall.
--having no choice but to use the app the way it is I do. I do 95% of all of my listing using this app. However I don't particularly care for it I find it to still be cumbersome. I generally takes you 2 to 3 steps to do something that should simply take one step. I would think that any person who is involved in creating this app should actually have to set up an eBay account and use it... then you would understand why it just doesn't work well. I have to admit that it doesn't crash very often and that even with everything that I've said I managed to use it. I do love the first page where can easily show me my sales and profits that was a nice feature. If you're looking to improve on anything one thing that I implore you to add is the notes feature... I List hundreds of items every month from my app. Then I have to go back and use the desktop to make a note to myself as to where those items are... Absolutely frustrating not to have that notes feature.
