Customer Reviews

Do NOT update to 4.0!

This is one of the worst app interfaces I have ever used. So many problems, I don't know where to start.
"Followed Searches" is a nightmare. The list is huge and no longer provides the functionality to swipe and delete a search, or turn notifications on/off with a button next to the search's name. Nope. If you want to do either of those things, you now have to scroll all the way back up to the top of the list, hit 'edit', scroll back down to the item, delete or toggle, scroll back to the top once again, click 'done', then scroll back down a third time to continue checking out your saved searches.
They've also added a left sliding menu drawer with various basically functionality embedded in it. So, of course, they put the button for that at the farthest upper left, where every other app puts its 'back' button. They just slid the clearly unimportant back button over one space. Because it's not like you'll be using the back button very often while you're browsing eBay listings. Clearly, you'll be using that menu button more?
Also hidden in this menu are your notifications. Where previously you could get to your recent notifications in one click, you must now click to open the drawer, where you'll see another notifications indicator that you have to click.
Apparently progress to eBay is adding more steps and clicks between you and everything that should be simple and straightforward in their app. BOOOOOOOOO!!!! 👎🏽👎🏽

Wish there were 0 stars... Worse than iPad upgrade!!

The eBay iPad app used to be fabulous. Then came the update which took several steps back in functionality. Most eBay app users HATED the update and the app had terrible reviews. Instead of using my iPad to do my eBay selling, I switched to using my phone. Smaller screen but at least the app was tolerable. Now I open the phone app after the update and see that they apparently decided to consolidate the worst features of the iPad app into the iPhone version!! eBay, GET IT TOGETHER! I don't know who designed this app and convinced the people in charge that it was a good idea, but they should be fired. No more easy flipping between watched, selling, and buying at the bottom of the screen. Now you have to use the annoying drop down menu. The button placement at the top is awful. I can't tell you how many times I've been scrolling through a search and accidentally hit the "back" button and cleared the search altogether. The following list items are outrageously large, the buttons takes up so much space I have to do three times the scrolling to find something at the bottom of my list. I know the bigger buttons are probably meant to help with clicking on the right item, but they are just so laughably large, it's entirely ridiculous! Don't even get me started on the selling experience. Simply not user friendly. Do NOT upgrade if you find the old version does everything you need it to.

Your app keeps getting worse

The drawer menu I can accept...fine. However, what I can't accept is how you've trashed the one section actually making this app invaluable which is the "Following" section in your new menu. You duplicated a good portion of my saved followed searches. How did you guys manage to screw that one up? You changed my sort order and changed the display title on of mine. I had the audacity to actually create some advanced search items and give them a name meaningful to me and now it's gone. You don't even show me the total list, only 4! FOUR! And I need to make an extra tap to show the rest. Why would you combine the followed searches and sellers into a single view? I would assume you had it in a task bar for a reason just like you have your "Home" section. It helps to separate different sets of content. Saved searches != saved sellers. How does that make any sense to you? You keep screwing up the most powerful and dynamic section of the app for people who want to give sellers money and you guys collecting on your fees. Why are the fonts so huge for a list of text. Why do your table row cells contains so much padding at the top and bottom? It's a just list of text! You could squeeze much more content in your view instead of making people scroll endlessly down. I would be ashamed to attach my name and sign off on QA on this garbage.
