“Ecoute Is The Best Music Player For iOS. Period.” - MacStories.
Ecoute for iOS is an alternative player using your existing musical library. It sports a clean and elegant interface, revolves around gestures to help you control your music quickly, and integrates Twitter, Facebook, and Last.fm so you can share your favorites tracks.
It enhances your control over the music by adding more options like 'shuffle by albums', 'play next' and 'add up next'.
Moreover, Ecoute offers the ability to manage the now playing queue. Add songs on the go and reorganize your tracks with ease!
The user interface automatically switches into night mode as the brightness of the screen decreases. You can also force the night mode if the default UI doesn't fit you.
Ecoute supports AirPlay and iTunes Match. Metadata like Play counts, and last played dates are synchronised.
Available filters are Artists, Albums, Composers, Genres, Playlists, Compilations, Songs, and Audiobooks.

Great App (please read!)
I downloaded Ecoute when Apple Music took over the default music app. This app is the most well designed and elegant music app to date in my opinion. I like the dark mode on low brightness, the ease of navigation and the overall simplicity of this app. However, there are some noteworthy bugs and room for improvement on this app.
-The queue is very unstable, sometimes when you open the app the song automatically skips forward.
-Also when you hit 'play next' on a song, if it's the only other song in the cue then the current song will restart from the beginning.
I would like to see these bugs fixed soon because the queue is a great feature of this app.
Some recommended improvements:
-I love grid view when looking at albums, but for artists list is the way to go. Make it in settings so that I can adjust the view for individual categories not just universal.
-Make it easier to switch between filters, i.e. swipe to the left/right. Also the filters button is inconveniently placed in the hardest to reach corner of the screen.
-Siri support for iOS 10!
Thanks so much for making this app and I will continue using it as my primary music app. I hope your team looks into these bugs/features and fixes/adds them into the next versions of Ecoute.
Ecoute is great! I use my iPhone 6 for texting and music. The iPhone 6 seems too big for my hand. I find myself using two hands to manage the device. In spite of my seemingly tiny hands, my thumb must be larger than average. When I use my thumb, my iPhone 6 either chooses to ignore it or deliberately makes the wrong selection. While using the music app, I often select one of the super-tiny buttons at the bottom and select (time after time) any other option but "music". Then I have to stop everything and find an even tinier button to let iTunes know that I am not interested in whatever it has to sell me. I must be the only person alive to have experienced invariable disappointment with the iPhone 6 and its features.
I've got my music back...the way I want it.
Can't tell you how happy I am today! I almost spent $300 on a discontinued IPOD just so that it wouldn't be able to download any new IOS Itunes updates. Instead, I searched and stumbled upon the idea of a new music app. I store my music by Genres and within each genre I keep my albums alphabetically by artist...no can do with the Apple music app (too simple a concept). Thank goodness I searched long enough to find Ecoute. Within seconds, there are my genres, there are my CD's by artist in alpha order and ready to play. Love having the album art up front. Playlists are there, my mashed up mixes are there and it all sounds great. For those who still want to own and store music, this app is the way to go.
