- prologue –
While driving home, the main character got lost in the forest near a lake. When he got out of the car to calm himself down, he noticed a house in the distance. He went inside to ask the inhabitants for help, but there was no one home. He moved to leave, but the door was locked. What are the residents up to!?
Your mission is only to escape from the room by opening the door. However, to do this, you'll need to gather some items and use those items in solving puzzles.
The rules are very simple. You can tap various locations, and you can also flick when you need to move about the room.
compatible devices : iPhone 3GS and later
iPod Touch 3G later and iPad compatible iOS5.0 and later
Typical BS puzzles
As usual in this genre, publish a game and hope someone purchases the solutions, fortunately there are online walkthroughs. Plus I can't believe this is a recent one of many made by the same developer, because the interface is terrible, often ignoring your taps or sending you elsewhere. With the extremely tiny hotspots some things have, that means some things are incredibly hard to find, where if you could just look around they would pop right out. Pre-rendered 3d is so 1997.
There's one puzzle in particular that's unsolvable: Even the walkthrough at AppUnwrapper punted on the symbol card+book equation. Sure, it's obvious they have to be combined, but I think something was left out of the game that actually keys another symbol. At least through some contortion of logic and tapping every millimeter the rest made some kind of sense.
Not very intuitive
I have played and enjoyed a number of these kinds of games, but this one is beyond me as far as having the puzzles make any sense. Rather than take the time to come up with any sensible reason for why a puzzle answer is what it is (that solution must be tucked in the developer's brain somewhere) I found it was far easier to just follow a walk-through, totally defeating the purpose of the game in the first place. It didn't take long to lose interest in this one.
No logical flow
I have played several games by this maker and they all lack a logical flow of the puzzles in comparison to other escape games. It makes the game an exercise in looking up clues far too regularly. In addition to that, the point and click mechanism is not nearly as good as many competitors. You can click very closely to your intended target and still not get the intended outcome every time.
