Expedia sold a flight that shouldn't have been booked
Too bad I'm unable to select 0 stars, because Expedia deserves it. My fiancée booked a vacation to Fiji four months in advance, and everything was set until we arrived at the airport, that's when it fell apart. Expedia sold us our international tickets, but our layover in LAX was not long enough. We found out that you must have at least a 1.5 hr layover between your domestic and international flights. After numerous calls to Expedia and being placed on hold for lengthy periods we were forced to decide to scrap our vacation, or cram 2 check bags into 2 carry-ons and 2 gate check bags. We were cramming clothes and scuba gear into smaller bags at the ticket counter, and after a week of packing it turned into how much stuff can we cram and what's vital to the trip. Has anyone run through the airport with a backpack full of scuba gear? It's not fun. Expedia's customer service manager tried blaming this mistake on flight change that had no bearing on our transfer. We complained to Expedia about this, and have yet to receive even an apology for the mistake. We will never use Expedia again, and we tell our friends and family to never use Expedia. Thank you Expedia for narrowing our future vacation searches to your competitors. - Neal H.
Point redemption strategically hidden
I can book hotels & flights. Great, but now that I'm 'gold' status, what is the benefit besides the badge I see on the check-out screen? There is no point in the booking process that suggests ways to redeem points; there is only a blurb that says I will earn points for whatever booking I'm working on. What's the point (no pun intended) if they go into the void?
I booked a hotel (via this app) a week before I booked a flight. Now that I've booked a flight, the app says I can save up to 55% on a hotel. So the order of booking matters? Why? And if so, why wouldn't the app suggest booking a flight first?
Basically with Expedia I've accumulated a ton of points but have never seen ways to spend them without any hassle.
I was a little hesitant at first but I've used Expedia a few times within the past 3 months and I have no complaints. Looking forward to my next few trips and activities. Didn't give it a 5 because I couldn't find coupons to use on the app but it mentions different coupons that can be applied. Aside from that, I highly recommend it for great deals, and quick/easy booking!
