Instantly reach the people in your life—for free. Messenger is just like texting, but you don't have to pay for every message (it works with your data plan).
Not just for Facebook friends: Message people in your phone book and just enter a phone number to add a new contact.
Group chats: Create groups for the people you message most. Name them, set group photos and keep them all in one place.
Photos and videos: Shoot videos and snap selfies or other photos right from the app and send them with one tap.
Free calls: Talk as long as you want, even with people in other countries. (Calls are free over Wi-Fi. Otherwise, standard data charges apply.)
Even more ways to message:
Bring your conversations to life with stickers.
Preview your camera roll photos and videos without leaving the conversation--then choose the perfect ones to send.
Record voice messages when you have more to say.
Know when people have seen your messages.
Forward messages or photos to people who weren't in the conversation.
Search for people and groups to quickly get back to them.
Turn on location to let people know when you're nearby.
See who's available on Messenger and who's active on Facebook.
Turn off notifications when you're working, sleeping or just need a break.
Stay logged in so you never miss a message.

Fixed issues to make the app more reliable.
Another update to wipe reviews?
How about just accepting your 2 star rating? You fully deserve it, probably deserve less but I wonder how many groups you have hired to flood positive reviews, hopefully tons because you should lose money on a stupid idea.
I'll keep rating you 1 star forever, no matter how many times you update it to get rid of the review. So will so many other people, how bout going back to old Fb messages?
To log out, go to the app's settings>Privacy and Terms>tap the white arrow in top left on the blue>tap the "3 line icon in top left>scroll down the menu to "log out" and log out. It looks like the Facebook menu, which it is. But it will log you out of Messenger. It will not affect your Facebook app. Why so many worried about permissions? I have given 64 apps permission to access my photos. 14 to access my microphone. Etc etc. I'm not worried. This is a great app. I like the notification "ding" when someone messages me. What's to not like? You can always hide this app in a folder with Newsstand, then use it in the Facebook app.☮
Good app overall / update feedback
This is a good app in general. It works well but i will say it should be available for most phones that have internet because some people can't afford the phones that messenger is compatible with. I also would like to see updates that are more specific as as to what issues were fixed. EX: we have fixed a bug in the app that has been causing it to sporadically close on its own. This is what i wish to see when i say i want to see more specific updates as mentioned earlier in my review. Thank You Muchly!
