Disgusting invasion of privacy

I personally only signed back onto Facebook to get a friends upcoming birthday I had forgotten the exact date of. I put it in my calendar, and almost signed off. Before I did, I had to have a look and see what my friends were up to. Still the same old garbage, from the same old people. 'I ate a bagel for breakfast' etc.
I've deleted my whole account, any personal info. and you should too. I find it WAY to intrusive. Example: "Pages you may enjoy" Alcoholics and Addicts ?? At first I was like 'why would I find that interesting?' None of my Facebook friends are alcoholics or addicts, and I've never visited any pages on Facebook with that subject. So it got me thinking, why would they suggest I was interested in that? I quickly realized somebody had sent me an email a few weeks back about a co-worker (not on F/B) who was going to rehab. So Facebook now reads my emails, even when I've deleted my account? Then assumes that I'm going to be interested in their page ? I'm really angry, and sick of them. Talk about Big Brother. Maybe I'm old-school, I still yearn for 2005 when MySpace was boss.
I know I'm in the minority judging by their immense popularity, but I personally hate Facebook, and wish I never signed up with them. 1984 ! Welcome my son, Welcome to The Machine!

App ok, Facebook Mgmt NOT ok!!

I do not like the fact that Facebook is pushing all these ads, which block content, and their own personal political agenda. I am also sick of the hypocrisy and bias. Example: mom publishes photo of daughter resembling the old copper tone ad. She gets banned from Facebook for showing the very top of her toddlers rump, called it pornography. I submitted a photo for review of a 6 or 8 month old baby who had been BEATEN TO DEATH.... they said that photo didn't violate their standards for graphic violence and refused to have it removed? Who are these people? I am pondering the idea of quitting Facebook entirely. Many of my family members and friends have already quit, mostly because of the monitoring that is done on everyone's account. It's a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, but now that these people running it have become much more greedy and lacking in moral judgement, and the fact that we now have to deal with them, it's just not worth it. Just like our current administration....take a good thing and ruin it.

I really hope that another social media tool, like the old Facebook, shows up and everyone leaves this to join it!

Most Recent

Like most reviews I have read, I have to agree that I look at news feeds as most recent. I never look at the news feeds as Top Stories. I am seeing that, for some reason, FB wants us to see Top Stories and makes it most difficult to see Most Recent. Please, allow the user a more friendly way to select how they wish to view News Feeds, and to remember what that selection is. I will only give 1 star for this current version as it is to much trouble to use on a smart phone.
I also have observed that I am not seeing posts when I compare to FB on the computer. The app is more frustrating than beneficial, in my opinion.
I have since removed the app from my iPhone. I find using the web version on my iPhone far easier when I want to look at FB mobile, which is far less than when the FB app was easy to use and configurable to my liking.
I do hope the developers read these reviews and make the necessary changes. Until that time, the FB app will not be on my mobile devices.
