*** VERSION 1.2 is available now ***
Simulate calls with this great application! Have you ever been in the situation where you need the perfect excuse to get out of the room or step out of an annoying conversation? Easy: Open FakeCalls and within seconds or minutes the application will simulate a fake call. (No real calls are made; this is just simulation. Good news is: you are the only one who knows that!). Then answer the call, decline it or just let the phone ring to fake a missed call.
MagicTap.net will donate 10% of the earnings to charity... so thanks for supporting our cause! Mi Sangre Foundation (www.fundacionmisangre.org) has been the selected charity for this purpose. Visit the donations section on the site to see updates and news about this.
Features and settings:
- Customize caller name or number
- Time to receive the call

- Get missing calls
- Proximity sensor
- Realistict transitions
- 25 ringtones to choose from

What everybody is talking:
"You have to hand it to Magic Tap for developing an app that is novel and useful, although you have to wonder if Fake Calls will end up being the perfect excuse or a source of never-ending paranoia on blind dates."
"This is a cheap price to pay for a little bit of security in knowing you will be able to skillfully bow out of any meeting."
"The app costs $1 — a sound investment to me. I just gave it a test, and I can see it coming in handy on a weekly basis."
What's New in Version 1.2
- Slide to answer option added
- Slide to unlock is now animated as the real one
- Small contact picture option
- Working in call buttons (mute, speaker, add call, hold, contacts)
- More discreet app name: "FC"
- Português (thanks to Luis Henrique Souza) and Svenska (thanks to Petrus Lundberg) languages added.
- Bug fixes
Thanks for making Fake Calls one of the TIME Magazine's 10 coolest iPhone Apps of the year and Apple's #4 Utility of the year.
BEST OF CLASS!!!
I have tested a lot of these apps, and so far I like this one the best!
Here's what I would like to see in a future release:
First off, something needs to be done so that this app shows up when you do a search for "fake call" or "fakecall" or "fake caller". I had to really look for it, and could only find it by searching for "fake calls".
I would like to see "Bluetooth" support added to this app. Which means both the "Audio Devices" button and screen (defaulting to "Bluetooth" as the selected device).
I would also like the loading screen changed to something that looks like the iPhone's real Phone app's keypad screen instead of one that has the "Fake Calls" logo and name...not very conspicuous the way it is.
For some reason the app crashes if I try to select a Contact with commas in it. i.e. "Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison, & Lewis".
I would also like the ability to select a custom ringtone, and not just what the defaults are; or at least the ability to use what I am already using for my phone. ;)
It would also be nice if the app was allowed to run while the iPhone was in sleep mode (screen off), but I can see how that might also be a problem for phones with a passcode...hmm... (I am guessing that might be what the "black screen" option is for, however it doesn't seem to work for me...)
Other than that, this app is great!!! Thanks!!!
Wow, very awesome
This app truly is amazing and the company behind it really reads these reviews. If you read the review written by +aqua+Thor+, they really took what she said into consideration. The "slide to unlock" is real now, there are 2 different backgrounds, the control pad actually works like an iPhone. (i have a touch) and they changed the name to be more discreet on the home screen. I got the app when it was free, it fooled my friends!
+++ and for all you touch users out there, turn the volume on you headphones all the way up, and u can hear the ringtone and tell your friends "the ringer is on quiet" lol
1.2 review (Almost Perfect)
First of all, thanks for the update.!
PROS: Yes! Caller ID picture is finally on the black bar. Buttons in the call screen actually works now. Added "slide to answer" feature, which is great. When "End Call" button was tapped, the timer turns to "Call Ended" and 2 seconds later, goes back to home screen.
CONS: The number pad still don't work (unlike Fake-a-Call app, which is FREE) I really hope they do in 1.3 or 2.0. The info. bar (in the call screen) is NOT transparent. I'm not sure if this is possible but, "AT&T" and the signal strength on the info. bar in the call screen would be really nice for iTouch users.
