No FaceID, last update 7 months ago
I like firstrade for my retirement accounts but the app has disappointed me.
Since we’re talking about the money I want to protect for the next couple decades, I make sure the password is sufficiently complex (but still somewhat memorable), so having to tap it in every time I want to access the app is not reasonable. I would expect the company to invest a bit more on an up-to-date app. TouchID is nice to have but for those of us who have upgraded to iPhone X we need our login.
I think this app has potential if they put a little more work into it.
It works well for watching my portfolio. I’m sure it is only helpful for Firstrade account holders. Trades work well. It recently stopped showing bid and ask prices in the research on stocks. Not sure why they stopped but I want that back! The ‘news’ on stocks is lackluster at best and I use the Apple stock app instead for that. The charting is not very user friendly, but I can get enough info to make good decisions with some messing around for a bit to get what I’m looking for.
Out of date app
iPhone X has been out for over a year now and with the release of iPhone XS and XS Max, you would think Face ID would be already implemented. Let alone the app doesn’t fill the entirety of the screen on my XS Max. It is just a poor app design.
It would also be great if my option calls had more frequent updates. For those that don’t have any daily volume, they never update the price which doesn’t show accurate gains or losses for the day.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
