Customer Reviews

A long-time favorite

Flipboard has been on my dock for years, and it's always been a dependable source for news. I've seen other reviews citing ads and questionable news sources, but those haven't been as much of a problem for me. When a bogus site *does* come across my feed, Flipboard's tuning options make it easy to mute the source or see less of those kinds of stories. Overall, it's a fantastic news-reader. My one complaint would be sometimes articles have a glitch or something that causes the article to extend into the bottom-most controls, effectively cutting off that part of the article. So, if you want to read the rest of the article, you have to open it in Safari, which is kind of annoying. But that is few and far between and isn't a deal breaker for me.

Favorite app ruined

Updated again: back to 2 stars. Just getting advertised to death - pop ups, launching App Store, etc etc. Way too much to enjoy the app. Shelving it.

Updated Nov 13: when this redesign launched I flipped my lid (pun intended). I bashed it with 2 stars - you can read my knee jerk first impression below. But to those with similar reactions, I say "Wait. Give it a week or two, let it marinate. Learn it." Now that I understand it, gotten used to it, it's become second nature again.

-Not happy with the redesign. Overly complicated and "taggy". Super specific tags everywhere taking up screen space. Don't care for the new font. Can't navigate to comments with one hand (right hand anyway). What I used to look forward to every morning with my coffee has turned into a chore.

I'm a huge fan

Love the app, I read it 1-2 hours a day. Would love to see content from Kiplinger.

UPDATE: it's been a year or two since I made this review, and I still love the app, and use it frequently. What I would love to see is, a way to "vote" against bad articles I don't want to see anymore, and then not see them. There are a few providers of articles that have very poor content, and I wish I could banish the whole site from my feed forever. In general it's a fabulous app, and I am super happy to have found it.

(Could they perhaps support horizontal view for phones?)
