Fun With Math Flash Cards
By Joshua Frasier
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
This app is a great flash card program for learning and practicing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It has nice animation and sounds that add to the great interface!
The best features are:
+ Simplicity: For a young child (and us adults with A.D.D.) there are no distractions, there is just the flash card, so they can stay focused on getting better at math.
Also, there are no complicated settings like many other flash card apps.
+ Difficulty setting: There is a simple variable difficulty slider to adjust how big the numbers get. Just slide it toward Easy for younger people and as they progress you can just slowly move the slider toward the Hard setting. Variable difficulty settings are hard to find in any other flash card app and it is much cheaper to buy this one app than different sets of physical flash cards as the person gets better at math.
+ Random numbers: The numbers for the flash card are random. This means that the user gets different flash cards all the time. They can't just memorize the answer of the flash cards because they have seen it before. This will make the user actually do the math in their head every time. This is much better than most flash card apps and physical flash cards in that respect.
This app will help your child (or yourself) be much better at doing math in your head, and not need a calculator as much.
Have a GREAT DAY!! :)
*This app is a great value! It has nice and easy to read visuals and the interface is very simple so users of any age can use it easily.*
What's New in Version 2.1
*** Added the ability to turn on the animated numbers.
We heard the users asking for this and we aim to please.
Please add other features
Even though the random numbers give the user a variety of practice, for the novice student who is learning any of the number groups at a slow progression, this app is not what they want. An example being if a student is just starting with the 2's in addition, they need to have the drill and practice with just the 2's family. This would be true for all the other operations as well. The feature which needs to be with this app is the ability to select a number family to work on. Then after mastery of the number groups, then the random function would be a plus.
Not able to write anywhere. Its not a good app.
