Customer Reviews

The app works great in many ways. It takes verbal, visual, and written words. I like that because it's makes things much easier. Another thing I like are the alternatives that they offer when you translate something. Many words have different meanings for that word so it is useful for one to take that personal decision of what that word implies. There's lots of room for improvement too! But I see that you guys are catching on really fast, so there is no need to complain. My suggestion to you is that if you could allow us to maybe send a sentence or a short phrase to an actual person who speaks that language and get replied back on what it means after a day or two would be a nice addition to this app. Because obviously this app translations aren't always perfect. Simply because language is complicated and technology can only go so far with translations. Hope you read my suggestion and maybe add it in the future. Overall great easy to use translation tool.

Very helpful

This app is very helpful and educational. It not only takes written words, it also takes verbal and visual ones. It also translates visual words in real-time right in front of your eyes. I have used this app a lot while doing homework, especially history. When I am researching a foreign country, I can use websites that are in foreign languages and translate the whole thing for more information. This app definitely makes your educational experience a lot easier.

I downloaded this app before traveling to Thailand. I even downloaded the dictionary to have access offline. This app was not helpful for several reasons:
- The camera option did not work for the Thai language (although it worked with Chinese on my layover, still pretty cumbersome). Given the popularity of Thailand as a travel destination I do not know why this function would not be operational for Thai.
- It could not translate common Thai words with English characters. So I could not type in any words to find their meaning. Which meant...
- The only way this app offered any assistance is if I DREW the Thai characters, which I do not know how to do.
- The only other option I can think of is to change the keypad to Thai characters, but since I am unfamiliar with the nuances of the characters this would still render this app useless for my purposes.
The irony is that I even saw this app recommended in a Thai magazine!
