Pros: Overall, the game is a nice challenge & offers a chance at finally learning to spell some of the larger words I have trouble with. The size of each puzzle is small, but they can take a few minutes (at best) up to almost an hour (in total) to complete & sometimes take several attempts. These puzzles are ideal to pick up for any length of time you have to spend.
Cons: It desperately needs to be updated, though. Crashes frequently - mostly if using backspace key. Unable to turn off keyboard click sound. Unable to clear the whole puzzle at once to start over without resetting all at once. No solutions if u can't figure it out - unless you email author about a particular puzzle.
Limited hints. Why aren't there more than 2 or 3 (or 0) hints available? Some puzzles can be easily done without using hints and some need 5 or 10, or as many as it takes. Some of the puzzles in the "killer" pack (expert level) are much easier then the "easy" puzzles. It seems odd since the killer's cost twice as much (and offer no hints at all). Think of offering the few hints per game on different words. Often I find the hints don't help at all because they are all letters in the same word which I have already found on my own. Each game pack is small & requires spending over $20 if you want to purchase each pack.
I give it 4 stars because it has good potential if some updates are made!
Really good, well designed app!
Not only is the game addicting, but the app is also well designed. As a current college student studying programming, it is well designed apps such as this one that serve as inspiration to myself and I am sure many others. Well done!
Before I'm even done, plenty of spaces still blank, the game suddenly tells me I've completed the puzzle. Obviously I haven't if there are still open tiles. I also purchased a bundle pack. Every single puzzle I've attempted has ended up with the same outcome. Since this app hasn't been updated in four years I don't hold out much hope that this issue will be resolved. Bummer because I really like it.
