If you're an artist and ever wanted to use decent hand reference without having to awkwardly pose your hand in front of a mirror, this app is for you!
HANDY is an artist's reference tool consisting of a rotatable 3D lit hand with a variety of poses useful for drawing. The 3 point lighting rig is also rotatable, so you can rotate and light the hand as necessary for your reference. NEW in 4.0 - edit and make your own poses!
HANDY now includes several heads you can rotate and light- great for getting basic lighting or angle reference.

Useful, and quite... Handy.
I use this app very frequently, but with the new update, I will likely use it daily. The sliders that allow for tweaking the hand models are exactly what I was hoping for when I first downloaded this app. The additional animal skull pack (for $.99) is very fun to use, and the jaw control is something that I haven't found anywhere else in the drawing app world. The best part is that you don't have to take an hour to learn this app, it's very intuitive. The only thing I find less than stellar is the rotation controls. They're a bit fiddly. I am hoping the sensitivity setting will help with that. TL;DR: this is a solid app for drawing reference, download it.
Solid app that could use some refinement
This is a pretty useful app that, with updates, could be indispensable for artist. Being able to rotate and turn off the lights is truly great, and now havinging the abiliyt to pose the hands is wonderful.
The only issue I am having is with the interface. It looks awful on my 12.9 iPad Pro. The interface is huge and blurry. So while it looks good on my iPhone, it is hard to look at on my iPad. I hope the dev will consider updating the interface elements to look better on the iPad.
The default poses are nice and natural, but the new update... CUSTOM. POSES. FAN-TAS-TIC! It's like a brand new app! Aside from the slightly high sensitivity for moving the hand/head/etc. it's the only app I use for reference (aside from scanning the Internet for help).
