Worth every penny

I've tried to start a meditation routine for years using books and CDs with no avail. The free ten sessions on Headspace were incredible--I meditated back to back for 10 days, something I had never done--but then I balked at paying the subscription and looked to recreate the effect by using cheaper mindfulness apps and podcasts, but I quickly noticed many days going in which I was not feeling motivated to meditate. So I subscribed to headspace and have been meditating daily for over a month. There are several key features to this app: you are motivated to continue on your journey to "unlock" sessions and get streak badges, the sessions become increasingly long and advanced which keeps you challenged, and you feel like Andy is giving you personalized instruction, a virtual meditation teacher. Stop fretting about the price and sign up. It's worth it.

Good, but way too pricey.

Quick disclaimer: I've only done the Take 10 (like 5 times), I have not and will not sign up for the subscription services.

I think Headspace does a lot of things right- the meditations are good, the voice is good, the app is beautiful. But it's just WAY too expensive! $95 for a year!? $13 for a month!? Wow. I'd probably pay $5 a month for this service since it does seem to be well made and it has had a positive effect on my life. The issue for me is that there are other services out there that are on par with Headspace's quality, but are a fraction of the price. The makers of Headspace should be well compensated for making a great app - and I have no problem paying- but this is just too much.

Beautiful app, but very expensive

This app kept me motivated to stick to a daily meditation routine like no other app or book has so far. The design and graphics are really nice and the instruction videos are great. Quite simply, it's pretty cool.

But the subscription model is very pricey. From what I can tell, it costs about $100 a year. Brilliant marketing, I admit, but why is this so expensive? There's quality options out there for a fraction of this price. Mediation shouldn't just be for the wealthy. - meditation & mindfulness
