Bug fixes and other improvements to game performance
Fun tactical RPG
I found this game more fun than most, and very easy to pick up and play as a casual, tactical RPG. I've only played it a few days, but it's wearing me out with occasional frozen screens that require me to reboot my ipad 4. The other players' comments about excessive IAP requirements are accurate - and I'm not cheap!
The devs have made some poor choices that really affect gameplay. Prepare to spend a lot of time watching load screens. Spend lots of hours grinding to get runic item fuse components, for minuscule improvements. Try not to get frustrated at the really idiotic party AI actions (or inaction - "I'm done fighting my guy, I think I'll take a smoke break while you guys get boss-pummeled"). Learn to enjoy having your champions be unavailable for 30 minutes or more while they level up (frequently) - of course you can speed up those waits with more purchases but mostly these just make me stop playing for at least an hour as an enforced break.
All said, this game is better than most, but it has some technical and balance issues. Still looking for just the "right" RPG for me!
Nice game spoiled by IAP
Update: after seeing so many positive reviews, i decided to just plug on and see... I have a level 179 party now... But the game is sheer drudgery.
Under powered armour and weapons if you dont spend on iap, the better heroes impossible to get unless you spend on iap, repeating the same levels over and over again so you can tackle a new tougher level and then going back and repeating those same levels so you can progress a bit more again... Earlier i had given this 2 stars, i will now give it 1 because you cannot give it less than that and delete it and hopefully forget i ever played it.
Oh yes, the upgrade your runic armour thing is an absolute sham, dont bother with it. Just sell your stuff and as you progress you get to buy better armour and weapons.
Could have been a really nice game. But as usual greed of the developer screws it up. I absolutely loathe games that require IAP to progress and unfortunately this one falls into that category.
I have a level 29 party now and its impossible to progress further without spending real world money and i refuse to do that.
A sincere suggestion to developers... Please charge for the game upfront and then charge IAP if at all for lazy or unskilled or casual gamers to move ahead.
Plants vs zombies 2 is the perfect game to illustrate this point.
2 stars for allowing me to reach level 29.
Current event crashes the game.
I can't recommend this...
...unless you plan to spend money playing it. It's an absolutely beautiful game, superb art and animation. Gameplay is fun, except at first I thought it was too easy... And then it got WAY too hard all of a sudden.
In a nutshell, being unable to upgrade your gear will kill you. You will have the components to upgrade it, but without buying and using credits, you're taking a chance on losing the components without successfully upgrading. And the chance of successfully upgrading gets lower with each upgrade.
So you can either spend money to make sure your upgrades are successful, or you can play the dungeons on the easier difficulties until you manage to upgrade gear and/or level up enough to move on. IMO this takes wayyyyyyy too long, so I deleted this game. Great game, but greed killed it for me.
