Better with every update.
I've had good luck printing from an iPad and now from my iPhone. Early on the kinds of documents you could print were limited. And I'm still not seeing some of the usual features that computer apps have (like zoom, print selection, etc.) when you're in the Print command. You pretty much have to format your document exactly how you want it printed before you use the HP app.
And there's still the extra step of creating an accepted document (e.g. pdf) and then opening the HP app, retrieving the doc or pasting the url of a website before hitting print. But that's a "growing pain" of mobile operating systems evolution, right?
Today it seemed like the process is getting easier. I wanted to print only a portion of a web page. Selected what I wanted and pasted it to a Pages blank document and formatted it into two columns of text on one page. From Pages: I hit the Share button, chose Open In Another App, picked export as a pdf, and then chose the HP app from the Suggested Apps list. Took less time than writing these paragraphs. Easy peasy.
It was also a snap to add my phone/find the printer.
Now, if only the app will quit nagging me about ink levels. (I like to squeeze out the last drop before replacing with a new refilled cartridge.) But that's a small price to pay for an otherwise free app. Thanks, HP!
(PS I am older than dirt and use the app on an iPad 3 and iPhone 6+, iOS 8.3 & 8.4)
Exceeded my expectations
For networked printers, I have had mixed results trying to use them with my iphone and ipad. However, I recently set up an HP Officejet Pro 8620 for my office and have been impressed with the easy to use this app with the printer to print almost anything from my mobile devices. Not the case I can say for my home Brother printer/app. Well designed and I am not left having to do "IT support" randomly when something gets updated in the app or operating system. I normally don't provide reviews, but the easy of use required I give credit to HP. Keep in mind, this app only works for HP printers that are set up for this capability. Make sure you check your printer before setting expectations about using this app.
Very Good - 1 correction needed
The app finds my networked printers just fine. When I tried to enter some email addresses, "yahoo" & "msn" worked fine.
However, I kept getting a message that my information was wrong when I tried to enter some "hotmail" addresses. I know the information was correct because it is working to access those accounts and I checked it for accuracy 4 times within this app. I don't know what I can do to fix it.
I also couldn't enter in a gmail account - message was to check the gmail site. I don't want to disable 2 - step verification for the Gmail account. Is there a way to fix this without disabling 2-step verification?
