A Winamp Remote for iPhone!
Connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to your home WiFi network, and control the music & video playing on your computer wirelessly!
Winamp is a popular music & video player for Windows computers. iAmpRemote lets you see exactly what song is playing, control the playback, volume and even see a live spectrum visualisation.
iAmpRemote also lets you control your playlist! You can view the playlist songs on your iPhone and even search for music.
You need to install a free winamp plugin on your computer before you can use iAmpRemote. Please visit www.movingapps.com to download the plugin and view installation instructions.
This program is only for Windows users. It does not support Winamp on Mac.
Please use the contact form on our website www.movingapps.com for any technical queries rather than the review comments as we are unable to respond to those. We'll be glad to help. Also checkout the FAQ and Instructions sections.
*Notice To iPhone OS4 Users:*
We are currently working on an iAmpRemote update for iPhone OS 4. If you encounter problems using iAmpRemote under iPhone OS 4, then please change the the port number used by iAmpRemote by going into the plugin settings and the iphone settings for iAmpRemote and change the port number to 61234 instead of 1120. This issue only affects a small number of users and we should have it changed permanently in the next update.
What's New in Version 1.9
- Added fullscreen video toggle button.
- Fixed glitch in spectrum visualizer display.
- Added empty Playlist Library help message.
Works great as advertised!
While I've used Apple's Remote app for a while, my old laptop music/media player just couldn't run iTunes smoothly compared to Winamp. This app let's me remotely control my Winamped laptop with ease. Would like to be able to see album artwork and search the media library though. A workaround for searching the library is to add all of the library's tracks to a playlist, then search within that playlist. Sweet!
Downloaded app, downloaded free winamp plug-in, simple and clear ip connection to your computer plus password and badabing-badaboom all set up. Quick and very easy. My iPod instantly became my home winamp remote! Music is accessable through already set up playlists or simple load everything up in winamp and use the built in search bar. Works like a charm! Money well spent!
Almost gave up
At first I could not get this to connect. I tried XP and Windows 7 computers, opened the port and even tried turning off the firewall. I almost gave up but then decided to try changing the port number. I changed it to 1000, both on my iPod and in the computer winamp plugin and of course the firewall. Once I changed the port number it connected and works great!
