iBall3D is a remake of the classic Labyrinth game, but in 3D. You'll have to guide a ball from a location to another, by orienting your iPhone or iPod touch, avoiding the holes. Once a level is completed, you'll be able to send your score to the iBall3D server, and consult your world ranking position.
This initial version contains 3 maps and 3 gaming modes, for a total of 9 challenges.
This game is free, enjoy !
First of all I would luke to say that I really like this game. But just like anything there are ups and downs.
Good graphics with very nice 3D effects.
A very good arrangement of levels and modes to add something new to a game.
The tilt is actually not supposed to be as responsive as much as some are wanting, whether on purpose or on accident this game has the same amount of responsiveness as my old wooden box of a game that I had. Meaning in the first of these game with a real marble and holes and wood the marble would not move the second you started tilting a certain way. The physics in this game are amazing.
Now for the cons:
The score menu has not been very responsive for me. I cannot access the works scores until I go to the title screen a couple of times and keep trying, but it will eventually come up.
The modes in the last 3 levels are at random so if I want to do a specfic mode, I have to keep losing and playing the game until the mode that i want shows up. Then if I lose I might or might not have to do it all over again. This I know will not be a big issue for some because not a lot of people can complete above 10 levels.
If they could fix these two rather key problems then I would five it 5 stars but as of right now it is a good game with a few problems.
At least try this game before reading the bad reviews and not giving it a chance.
Gorgeous interface (one of the best I've seen). I have the full version of Labrynth (which I consider to be perfect). Comparing the two directly, this game 'seems' lesser, but it's actually far far greater. The graphics appear to be blocky and unpolished, but the difference is that Labrynth uses images to lay out game play; iBall 3D is, as the name implies, a complete dynamic 3D rendering. When you remind yourself of this fact, it doesn't bother you so much.
Some things which I think should/need to be addressed are:
The ball (physics are too "heavy" - this makes it easy, but it seems a bit too unrealistic from the user's perspective) and (the rainbow pattern is impressive to show off the 3D, but it's mesmerizing/distracting and actually makes me kind of dizzy lol, a checkered ball option would be nice and could still show off the 3D to some extent).
The zoomed in camera. It looks great, but... the fixed angle and zoom make it hard to use it when the ball needs to be rollin towards you (can't see where you're going). Maybe a ball "holder"/pause to allow a 90 degree camera angle change with tilt meters so the device is level before resuming.
Just some ideas.
Holding on to this one!
Too difficult?!?! Huh?????
After reading these bad reviews I felt that I needed to speak up.
This game is awesome. Yes, it's hard but honestly, who wants to pick up a game that is not a challenge? I sure don't.
This game will challenge you and frustrate you but once you get the hang of it, you'll find yourself picking it up again and again. And that makes for a good game.
If you've ever played a real labyrinth board - you know, the wood board with the handles and the heavy marble, then you will appreciate the heavy feel of this game. That is the whole point.
Guide the heavy marble through the maze and avoid falling in the holes. The developers got it right. And the 3D factor just makes it better.
While I do agree that the game is quite difficult, I'm addicted and I won't quit till I pass that 3rd level! Maybe a difficulty selector would help the people who prefer easy games.
If you enjoy maze type games, then do yourself a favor and dowload this cool, FREE app.
Hopefully more boards will be added in a future update. I'll be looking forward to it!!
