Simple, effective, but one bug

Just what I was looking for. I need to create both Mac and Windows icons for a client. A quick drag and drop did it with no muss nor fuss. Good start, though not quite perfect. There are two flaws, one of them minor and one a substantial bug. "Built" at one point is spelled "builded". No big deal, a minor peculiarity of English. The bug was more significant. After saving my icons (everything but 512x512, as my original material was only 256x256), I tried saving as PNG and TIFF. Saving as PNG crashes the app. This needs to be fixed, but it is not a function that I needed.

Recommended. Would be 5 star but for the crash.

Keep up the good work, Jérémy!

Does what it says it does.

Icon Slate is super easy to use and it worked perfectly for me. I needed to create some Windows icons, which are basically packages of bitmaps (png in my case), with the file extension “ico”. The ico file holds all the different sizes of your icon, and Windows picks the one to use based on context. That might be an oversimplification, but for my job, that’s all I needed to understand. You could get a Photoshop plugin to “complie” the ico file, but Icon Slate, which is a stand alone app, seemed easier, and it did the job of compiling the ico package very quickly and intuitively. I should mention that I tried the free Sketch plugin of the same name, but I couldn’t get it to work. So I paid the five bucks for the stand-alone app, and I’m good to go. I should mention that Icon Slate does a lot more than what I used it for.
