"What do you get when you combine the best method to get stronger with detailed instructional videos, thorough explanations AND an actual day to day program? THIS APP! Finally! Perfect for both beginners and experienced lifters and worth much more than the $4.99 I paid for. Thank you Starting Strength!"
"I've tried 2-3 other apps. I've kept paper logs. Nothing has been easier to use than this app. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't enter my warm up sets...its because you don't need to! You enter your work set weight and it tells you exactly what to load on the warmup-ups..."
"Great App! Creator of this app really listens to the users! All previous constructive criticism has been resolved. Great app!"

What's New in Version 1.17.7
* fixed bug in power clean, last warmup set was same weight as workset
* fixed bug in deadlift sometimes showing 3 sets instead of 5
Great for those just getting into strength training and following the starting strength linear progression model in the book. I had minimal knowledge from PE back in high school and of that knowledge most of it was garbage especially when related to form.
I would highly recommend buying the book and reading it cover to cover. After that go to the gym, follow the instructions in the book on form and set up your camera phone to record yourself. If you have the means and there is a certified coach in your area contact them.
One last thing, this is not a program to loose weight or get ripped, this is a program to help you get stronger and with that comes muscle mass and weight. The strength has paid dividends for me in the form of relief from what I think is sciatic nerve pain.
So go out and get strong.
Solid app. Needs some tweaking to make it awesome
I love this app in general. I like having the text and videos available for review at the time of the lift. The warmup calculator works great. And I like the plate calculator. Also, being able to switch lifts from the bench to the overhead press and from the deadlift to the power clean is great.
I do really wish the app saved my progress as I'm progressing through the workout instead of waiting for me to save the workout at the end. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to hit the save button at the end of my workout and then had to go back and try to remember what my lifts to fill in the missing day. Other than that this app is great!
Better than SL5X5
Just do the power clean. Rows are a waste of time.
The warmup and volume of Starting Strength and the inclusion of power clean makes it a superior program. Listen to Mark Rippetoe, he's been doing this for years and knows what he's talking about.
