Hands down none better!!!

I am an amateur astronomer with 40 years experience. I have used many astronomy apps through the years and this one hands down is the best. I highly recommend it to those that are new to the sky and also professionals. It is beautiful to look at, accurate, easy to use for the beginner and exhaustive for the expert. Many other apps have dumbed down theirs in order to cater to the beginner. I've seen many apps ruined because of this. Not so with SkySafari. They went the extra mile not to remove all the technical settings that a professional would want to adjust, and still made the app easy for the non professional. The app is chock full of detail and information. They are constantly updating the app with current celestial events and also correcting any mistakes, even if an object had such a minute mistake in spelling like T Tauri was spelled (t) Tauri. Congratulations guys for a wonderful app. Keep up the great work.

Compass mode to find NCP bad

I tried using the compass mode to align my iOptron sky tracker mount to the north celestial pole (i.e. polar align it) and every time I adjusted the position of the mount so it was centered on the pole, the skysafari view showed that it would slowly drift a bit. After several adjustments, skysafari would tell me that the NCP was in a direction 90 deg or more different than where I knew north was. Yes usually the sky will drift as the Earth spins but NCP should NOT.
You find the NCP by laying your phone flat on the iOptron sky tracker mount and adjust its position so the skysafari view is centered on the SOUTH celestial pole. The iOptron sky tracker will then be pointed at the North Celestial Pole. Unfortunately skysafari compass mode is not trustworthy

Overall it's awesome but...

I must say this is a great app. It provides much information about stars planets constellations and is just so fun to use! However my only issue is that I wish you could move your phone so when you look where your pointing your phone, you know if your looking at a certain star or planet. But that's my only issue. The money was well spent on this app. So I highly recommend if you are reading reviews to see if it's good enough, and it surely is.
