First of all, if you haven't taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon "RIDE782" to get $800 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payments tab in the app and enter the coupon there. Might as well try it out since it probably won't cost you a thing!!
The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver's face, phone number, and car make and model. It's amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button!!! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!! Lyft is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don't see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. Even if you want to get a black car on the occasional night out, it's still cheaper and more convenient than hiring your own private driver.
The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn't have to say anything more than a short comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I'm very happy and I hope Lyft continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service! I also prefer Lyft much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!!
There are a couple things I’d like to see in this app, if possible: (1) a way to see the event guide (that shows up in Updates) while still in Driver mode. While in driving mode the other day, I tried to check out local events in the app, but couldn’t unless I turned off driving mode; (2) a way to input what time I needed to be at a destination myself so that the app doesn’t add passengers to my queue automatically if they’ll make me late. I just want to make sure I don’t get passengers who are going out of town or are going across town.
Another thing I’d like to see is having the app ask me if I need a break after getting a certain # of passengers or driving a certain # of miles / kilometers. For example, last Saturday, I drove about half an hour to take 1 passenger across town, and a passenger was added to my queue as I got closer to the 1st passenger’s destination. The 2nd passenger’s destination was half an hour way in almost the same direction toward where I picked up the first destination. I was at a quarter of a tank of gas by the time I dropped off this 2nd passenger, and I kept getting passengers added to my queue each time I dropped someone off. I finally got a break, but it would have been nice if the app asked if I needed a break so I wouldn’t have to worry about leaving a passenger stranded, especially if a passenger requesting me already had at least 1 other driver cancel on them.
app slow to react when at red light or after making a turn
Hi, I’m a driver in Baton Rouge, La & I really have problems when at a red light & the app shows to go straight 200ft then after passing thru the light the app says to turn right or left! This requires a U turn & confuses the rider & driver as we have heavy traffic in our town & this error sometimes requires driver to go 1/2 mile or more out of the way.. Also many times after making a turn the app is slow to react & indicate the next move causing the driver to miss the turn as he has already passed it..
What are your guidelines for customers who are not outside when driver arrives & when driver attempts to make contact the rider’s phone doesn’t answer or goes to voice mail or has not set up voice mail? One would think the rider would be available but I’ve had this happen many times.. why does the driver not get a fee when the customer is a NO SHOW or cancelled the ride when driver is in the rider’s parking lot? I have trouble turning off my app sometimes while moving which causes the page to slide over then the driver has difficulty focusing on the road causing driver to get a low acceptance rating.. we could use a bigger % also!
