Some comments from users of beorg:
"It just feels like a really natural way to do things"
"Thanks for making something I've been waiting a long time for"
"Editing is intuitive and makes things easy. I love the feature that compiles my org file into html."
"Wow! Beorg was already used for for reviewing files on the go and capturing to do items, but the new editing functionality is impressive."
* Available as an in-app purchase.
beorg 2.9.0 delivers the ability to define and edit repeating tasks. Monthly sales meeting? Weekly gardening? Daily jog? Set tasks to repeat on daily, weekly, monthly or yearly intervals. Choose how a task gets updated when completed - whether the date should be increased from the task date or today. Repeating tasks are available to all users in this latest release.
There are a number of other improvements and fixes in this release:
* A bug with occasional issues with blank space underneath content when the keyboard is dismissed has been squashed
* When searching from the TODO tab the file headers only count tasks not all items in the summary
* You can't get around a file being readonly by editing the complete file text anymore
* Links to emails created using org-mac-message-insert-link or similar now should work in beorg
* Rendering of content now better supports \\ to start a new line and BEGIN_QUOTE should work more-or-less as expected
* Some REPL bug fixes
If you are an Org mode user please note that repeating tasks don't yet support warning periods or org-habit style modifiers. These will be added in a future release.
Ratings and Reviews
What we have been waiting for
I am a long-time user of org-mode who took a hiatus because there was no effective iPhone app. I am back thanks largely to this excellent client, one that I hope the Emacs community will rally around and support. It has a solid core of essential features, including a clear and usable agenda, a good editor, task filters, notifications, and customizable todo’s. This is not to say that the app is fully mature or that there is not room for future development. In particular, the most important feature I would like to see is support for repeating tasks. Also desirable would be search and support for tags. The app is currently donorware, but I was happy to make a contribution toward development, and I encourage others to do so. Given the complexity which comes with org-mode’s power and flexibility, org-mode will always be a niche product, but dedicated users should be willing to pay a premium to support its only usable phone client and encourage future development.
I lost several days of works
At first, I was quite excited that I can make my org files available with nice formatting on my phone so purchased extra features in support of this project. But after several days of using with Dropbox syncing, I was hugely disappointed that the syncing is so unreliable that I lost several days of works on org files and I was left with messed-up files on my computer too.
Even worse, all of those edits were mixed that I can't figure out how the syncing is working so that I could adjust my usage pattern and all of this mixed edits were not captured by the version controlling feature. Even in a single session, source view and formatted view were not consistent by showing different contents and I really wondered how this was happening.
Despite of all convenience that I had with this app, I think I have to stop using this to avoid risk of losing my works and time.
Developer Response ,
Please get in contact with me via the support link in the app or on beorgapp.com. I will endeavour to investigate and resolve any issues you are experiencing.
Please note - if beorg has overwritten any changes in Dropbox then you can recover previous versions of files from within Dropbox.
Best MOBILE OrgMode app
Despite of the very small number of target users, the develop team has actually put much effort into the app - the best mobile OrgMode app EVER.
BUT, I still want to require more features from the dev team: instead of the complex features provided by OrgMode, please considering introducing a simple to implement subdirectories at first. Also, as OrgMode users are mostly programmers, can you introduce git based version controls as well?
Would like to contribute my effort into the developing and testing of this app, if it helps to speed up feature development.
