What's New in Version 2.0
-UI tweaks: Timer/level indicator more visible, new help and camera buttons
-Video tutorials that show aspects of gameplay (located in the new help screen)
-Bigger dots, diamonds and shields for smaller screens
I first played this game on an iPad and was immediately taken by the simplicity of the gameplay. Starting out I was a bit cautious, using only one finger and two hands to tap away the ever increasing number of dots. As the play wore on I found myself using a second, third and fourth finger to keep the horde at bay. Before I knew it I was accidentally activating the iPad's swipe commands. Once my fingers and hands were sorted I felt like a composer guiding unseen notes with hands forced by the rhythm of the dot army. It was a soothing and pleasantly hypnotizing experience. I downloaded the game to my iPhone 4 which has a tiny screen and was a bit disappointed. The tiny screen makes for a tiny game. I can only get to level 12 or so on my iPhone but on the iPad we're talking high teens after just a few tries! The only thing I would change (if I could) is the soundtrack. The music is a bit too hurried and doesn't always match the elegance of the gameplay. All in all this is a fantastic first game from this up and coming creative mind!
Great music and design concept! Maybe could add a progress bar at the bottom or in the corner so you know how many more diamonds you must get before leveling up? Oh and a respawn countdown timer for black holes would be sweet.
Edit: nice upgrade on the countdown timer. With it being easier to see how long I have before the level progresses keeps me from wasting black holes.
When I first started playing I thought that by collecting diamonds I was helping the countdown timer decrease by 5-10 seconds each time. Is that something you could incorporate? It would feel more rewarding each time I successfully collected a diamond.
Not a Gamer but Love the Game
Wow! I am not a gamer but can't stop playing Ping. The first time I played Ping I used one finger and poked at the swarm of dots. I now use multiple fingers and alternate between tapping, sweeping and swirling. I love the music and the building intensity that comes with leveling up. Great game and a lot of fun. Well done.
