Simplenote is an easy way to keep notes, lists, ideas and more. Your notes stay in sync with all your devices for free. Share notes with other users to collaborate on a project together or to access the same list.

The Simplenote experience is all about speed and efficiency. Open it, write some thoughts, and you’re done. As your collection of notes grows, you can search them instantly and keep them organized with tags and pins. Work with other people on the same note by sharing it and publish notes to the web for other people to see.

The best way to learn about Simplenote is to try it. You'll be asked to create an account. This allows your notes to be backed up online and synchronized automatically.

Customer Reviews

My most-used app

I use Simplenote every day on an iPhone, an iPad, and Macs at home and work. I have used it since early days after buying my first iPod touch in 2007. The interface is brilliantly simple, finding the information I've stored is easy, and the synchronization "just works" as expected. Simplenote is an invaluable aid to an aging brain!
Apple's Notes app is also great, but older devices may not be able to play, and non-Apple devices can't. Simplenote wins if you need to work across platforms.
My chief gripe is that on my iPad Pro 12.9", I get to see only one item arrayed in a column down the middle of my huge screen. Either the list of notes, or the text of a note when one is selected. The screen is big enough to show the narrow column with the list on the left and the text of the selected note on the right. I wish it worked that way. I wish the width was user-selectable, so I could see more of my text rather than wasted empty space. It's funny that other apps are gaining popularity because they work like Simplenote used to.

Absolutely simple, exactly what I need.

I used Evernote for a few years, but it was a bit bloated and slow, and I really didn't need or want the formatted text or images that often resulted when I pasted text into my notes. Then I moved to Apple's Notes app, and for a long time, I tolerated its oddities and frustrations on my iPhone, Macs and iCloud. Duplicated notes and syncing issues were annoying and rampant. But when Apple removed the ability to sort notes alphabetically on iOS, I had had enough. My search for an alternative led me to Simplenote about a year ago, and I've never looked back. It's exactly what I need, and has the added benefit of having a Windows app too. Intuitive interface, built-in versioning, and solid as a rock. It still makes me happy every one of the 100+ times a day I use it to quickly jot down a shopping list, recipe, to do, movie to watch, book to read, or random thought. I don't think I've ever loved an app so much. And through Simplenote, I also discovered Simperium. :)

After checking this app in all of my devices (iPod, iPad, Nexus 5X and Windows 10 PC), I am more than happy with its quality. It has a simple and beautiful design. The accessibility is pragmatic and easy. I think the most important thing is the fact that it's connected to your email. It allows access in all of your devices, immediate syncing and most importantly complete assurance that data will not be lost. You can also change the theme to a dark one. It can help your eyes and it looks beautiful for those who prefer a darker look. If you have got a FingerPrint device you can use the fingerprint instead of a password (at least for the Google smartphones).
Just like its name, this app is good for anyone who wants to take simple notes.
I am commenting after a long time looking for a good notes app that is functional, has a good accessibilty and is easy to use. I have tried around 20 apps and I prefer Simplenote the most.
