Version 1.1 is here!!! The controls are now in arcade standard positions (similar to asteroids like games): left and right rotation are together on the left part of the display while thrust and fire are on the right part of the display. I believe this should provide for better game control. Thanks for your comments (email and iTunes)!!
It is the latter part of the 21st century and nanobots (small nano robots) are commonly injected into the human body to deliver chemicals and healing drugs to difficult to reach areas. A new generation of nanobots have been created to take a more active role in human health. These new nanobots can incinerate viruses and bacteria that don't belong. Just as total success was at hand, a new and manufactured plague has risen to challenge the nanobots. These counter-nanobot creatures steal away cells within the body rendering the human incapacitated. Your job is to control the nanobots to fight off these evil agents as long as possible.
The goal of the game is to ensure the cells are kept in a particular partitioned area. If a nanobot is destroyed by an invader, a new one will be injected in after a few seconds. The game ends when all the cells are stolen from the war area.
What's New in Version 1.1
The controls have been rearranged in a more typical arcade layout. Left/Right rotation is on the left half of the display while Thrust/Fire are located on the right half of the display.
Time to go retro
The app was a cheap price and i gave it a try. It reminded me of very much of the games i played in the arcade back in the early 80's. The graphics are clean and the animations are suprising. I'm new to apps and didn't think that something so small can produce games of this quality. I did feel that better customization in the controls would serve all users better. What if you didn't need a thrust button? What if you just had to tilt the iPhone to thrust, and the amount of tilt controlled how much thrust you'd get? I agree with the comments of the previous reviewer. New controls, new background animations and new enemies? This would be great in the next update.
Version 1.1 is much better!!!
I did not care for the control layout as shown in the original pictures. However, even knowing this, I bought the app. It's only $.99. I enjoyed the graphics animations and gameplay (the pictures don't do this game justice). The latest control layout works waaaay better!! If you add some settings to provide more flexible gameplay, this game would rate even better. Thanks for listening. I look forward to future releases of this product. It's a fun retro arcade game!!!
1st Gen Love?
Nice looking game; too bad it doesn't work on 1st generation Touch. :( Got excited about this app as the description reminded me of the classic 80's arcade game "Ripoff". Clicked on buy before I noticed the 2nd Gen only support. Oh well. Maybe another will come along.
