Retro-X is the latest version of Retro Cave Flyer, a skill-based Lunar-Lander style game where you must save the day by rescuing stranded scientists.
Retro-X features 23 challenging levels, some of which have been known to make grown men cry on the hardest settings; physics options for the more descerning players and Booster Packs for getting stragglers out of tricky situations.
- Tilt the iPhone/iPod Touch gently to tilt your craft.
- Touch anywhere on the screen to apply thrust.
- Land next to scientists to save them.
- Land next to Fuel Pods (they're hard to miss) to refuel.
- Use short controlled bursts to fly through tight spaces.
- Refuelling also replenishes shields.
- Upon death, you'll respawn on the last platform you landed on.
- It pays to be patient!

AWESOME must get
SWEET app I WANT more been playing it for 2 days now and can't stop one of the most addicting apps I've tried on the app store. I really can't get enough, I would love to see even more challenging levels in the next update but all in all it is a VERY satisfying game and also brings back memories of the old DOS moon lander but now on steroids. I would gladly recommend this app to anyone who loves a challenge but also wants a pick up and play app I hope to see MANY more apps from you. And to those complaining about adds, I also got this app because of FAAD and haven't seen a SINGLE add so I'm wondering where you guys are seeing these so-called adds?!
Too easy to waste shield accidentally
This game has potential, but it needs to be tweaked a bit. It is currently too easy to waste your shield on minor brushes with the wall or platform. They deduct the same amount of "health" off your shield, whether you barely scrape something at near-zero velocity, or you barrel into it at light speed. That makes the game more frustrating than fun.
Barely scraping or nudging a wall at low speeds should cost nearly zero shield energy. It should scale with your velocity. Fix that and you can have more stars. And more importantly, your game will then be fun.
Looks good, but...
The white screen is completely Openfeint's problem, not the game, guys. It's happened to me before in other games, and until they officially fix it, keep trying the game - it can still work occasionally, and once it does it won't happen again. I'd love to actually play this game too, by the way. :T
