Fun baseball game
Obviously the users that complain about the foul balls don't know much about the science of baseball. Timing is everything so if you're fouling off a lot you're either too early or too late on the ball.
That said, I really respect the hitting system in this game. Pretty realistic, if you tap just below the ball, it pops up. Get on top of the ball, and you hit a grounder.
Pitching, knuckle balls drop causing grounders, etc. So pitching system is pretty neat.
Lack of MLB license is a bummer, but you can make your own team made of players from other teams and play a season. Pretty much full stats are tracked through the season, too.
Don't let the lack of MLB license keep you from buying this app! If you love baseball, you'll find it's surprisingly deep and rewarding when you get the timing down on hitting. It's like a simpler MLB The Show.
#1 Time Filler
After a short learning curve I am now set to the "expert" level and still can consistently win most games by a large margin. Pitching is fun but batting can be improved. Once the opposing team's pitcher gets tired home runs are fairly easy once you get the hang of it. So far I have won 16 of 17 games this "season" at the expert level. Since it can be suspended it is my #1 time filler. I usually play a few innings when I have a few minutes of idle time. It is rare that you can hit a ground ball through the infielders and most runs are scored with doubles and home runs. The only thing I would change is to see more singles instead of home runs to make the game a bit more challenging, although I have to admit the game is fun to play as is!
Wii's best baseball game comes to the iPhone!
This is easily the best Wii baseball game... and it's finally here on Apple's iPhone/iTouch! PowerPros Touch is fun, fluid, highly configurable (difficulty settings, game length, auto-fielding on/off, etc), and looks great. The game is not without its faults: No autosave? Really?. Only two stadiums: indoor and outdoor. Limited teams. And I would have preferred it be a licensed MLB game like on Wii (especially since the only officially licensed game is sooooo bad). That said, this is the best baseball app in the store and will likely only get better with updates. Bottom line: easily worth 4 bucks. Add autosave and it gets 5 stars.
