It is the year 2099.
Mankind travels through galaxies. It is a time when a united and multi-ethnic society is living in peace together. Humans are independent of atomic energy and natural energy resources. Instead, the key to sustain an united human nation and provide them with the new ultimate energy resources are intergalactic crystal gems.
They carry a new form of energy that humans learned to extract.
Hard to mine, but the most powerful energy source known.
In a time of declining gems reservoir, you are part of a special team to assure human life advantage and to sustain enough gems. Face the challenge and travel through unknown galaxies with your mining ship and mine all gems to bring them back home.
Crystal Gems is a cool remake of the famous breakout classics with the additional touch. Navigate your transporter ship with the finger, deflect your crystal gem collector ball over the power shield and try to collect all crystal gems to clear a stage. If the gems start to shine while you collect them your score will double. On your trip you will find different power ups, monsters and a challenging level design.
Additional to other breakouts games Crystal Gems features:
- ultra realistic "space" physics based on nvidia physic engine
(for example: you can drag the ball on the deflector shield for different tactics)
- stunning soundtrack
- spoken voice effects
- various beautiful crystal sound effects on ball reflection
- particle effect based 2d graphics
- support for vibration (only supported on iphones)
- three difficulty levels
Would be good, but...
The gameplay and graphics are great, but they went crazy with unbreakable blocks. I feel like I spend 10% of the level trying to get a ball into an unbreakable maze, then the other 90% just sitting there watching it bounce around, hoping it will EVENTUALLY destroy the last gem. Then a monster comes along and redirects the ball just as the ball finally gets on the right trajectory. It's too bad, because the look and feel are great, but there's way too much sitting there doing nothing.
This is loads of fun!
Great remake of a classic with lots of extras and surprises. The controls are very smooth and easy to use with great graphics and background music. I especially like the attention to detail with the realistic physics.
