Tweet, Retweet, reply and favorite in a flash. Quickly see recent Tweets and top trends. Share your location, a song, or your thoughts with a flick on the wrist. It's Twitter, but littler.

Twitter is a free app that lets you connect with people, express yourself, and discover more about all the things you love.

See what your favorite celebs and athletes are chatting about. Be the first to hear breaking news. Catch a glimpse behind the scenes at concerts, sporting events, and more.

Then join the conversation: Tweet your own text, photos, and video to your followers — and maybe make a few fans along the way.

Get inspired. Be social. Even send private messages to friends. All in real time, as big (and little) things happen, from anywhere you happen to be.

Twitter is now available for Apple Watch.

Customer Reviews

Horribly designed app.

I love using Twitter, but there are so many problems with this app. I can list several here. 1 - Nobody cares about favorites/likes/while you were away/who to follow, especially on the timeline. 2 - Remove the follow button on the bottom right corner of tweets. Many people use that area for scrolling and accidental follows happen because of that. 3 - Why does the app unfavorite/unlike tweets? 4 - The request to remove the moments section has been so popular, even several verified accounts have said that. It's useless. 5 - Why can you see a private person's tweets when searching tweets? You can type in (from:(protecteduser)) and the tweets still display. What's the point of protecting your tweets? 6 - When you search users, barely a person will care about (user follows). 7 - When you click a tweet after searching, is it necesaary to have (user liked/retweeted/you follow this user/follows you)? You're just viewing the tweet and its replies. 8 - Much more issues that should be fixed.

Close, but no Cigar...

The app is my go-to app when I go on my has so much potential but just gets crushed under its own weight of success. Makes news for itself but not the app...if I ever Jack Dorsey: this Is what I would do:
- depth-first strategy: understand each account and their preferences - not more people we should follow but how deep and rich their experience ought to be. Each click should lead them down a discovery path that keeps engagement high
- meta-data: understand the macro critical interest areas so that they don't go to trove or flipboard or FB or any other tool for more links but a curated set of interest topics that keeps them in the news-chain
- random list of updates based on timelines is kinda dumb - it was good when it started to introduce a concept of Twitter - but what you want to focus on are online channels that get you to what you need - use the #trend to drive new channels and only surface up tweeted that have some level of quality content...
- kill the tweet-storms who the hell cares about multiple streams of consciousness that celeb tweeters over-indulge in
- have a news-graph or trend-graph built for each of the interesting tweets based on profiles - "while you are away.." Is a bit smarter...
- video strategy: what is it?

This thing is really annoying.

Okay so I have tweet notifications for certain people turned on. Well when I don't have Twitter open and I click on the notification to open it in Twitter, it opens Twitter but doesn't open to that tweet. I have to have Twitter already open in the background then click on the notification. This is really annoying bc then I have to go find that certain tweet. Also, sometimes when I'm opening Twitter so I can click on my notifications and go to it, Twitter clears all my notifications. Which makes me so aggravated bc then once again I have to go find all of those tweets! And one more thing likes? Like the heart is cute and everything but it's always been favorites. That's what made Twitter unique. But now it's likes just like Instagram, Facebook, etc.
